I never write reviews but felt I had to warn others how disappointed I am with this former
BUYER BEWARE!! These are not the same shoes they used to be. I have purchased them regularly for the past several years but the pair I just received is not the same. As is the case with almost everything you buy these days, the manufacturer has chosen to make them cheaper with a much thinner, inferior leather upper. In addition, the shoe is not as deep as it used to be which is a deal breaker for someone who wears orthotics. The height of the part of the shoe that covers the heel is one-inch shorter than it used to be. The padding around the ankles and in the tongue is thinner. The velcro straps are thinner and more flimsy and the upper collapsed (leather wrinkling) from the moment I put them on. I never write reviews but felt I had to warn others how disappointed I am with this former, good quality shoe.

Great Shoes Grandma Loves Them!!
I bought these for my 95 year old grandma for her birthday, she can't stop talking about how much she loves them, she loves the classic white clean color and she even put them on to lie down for her nap. If grandma says there good you better listen. They have easy velcro straps which makes them perfect for the elderly.

Have Bought Several Pairs
I have a hard time finding shoes I can wear. I need a good arch support. With my bunion I also need to be careful where decorative stitching is on the shoes. On too many shoes part of the toe or side panel's stitching and seam run right over my bunion. That makes the shoes painful to wear.I was wearing another more expensive brand of walking shoes. That company quit making shoes with a Velcro closing. I always hate when a favorite product is no longer made. The search to find something I like can be hard. These shoe were what I was looking for. They are plain colored, have a roomy toe box, the ankle curve doesn't come up too high on me. There is also a decent amount of arch support.I really like the Velcro closure. Too often shoestrings are too long and make of some fiber that doesn't stay tied. On some shoes the Velcro isn't long enough to go over my high arch and keep the shoe tight. On these shoes the Velcro is the right length.I normally walk everyday the weather cooperates, so I have put a lot of miles on my last pair. Since I was happy with the first pair of these shoes and thought they wore well, I decided to stick with this shoe. I now own this shoes in white and black.

excellent walking shoe...but watch wet surfaces
Comfortable walking shoes that got a LOT of use when we went on our honeymoon to New Orleans. We walked everywhere so these walking shoes got a serious workout. Comfortable fit provided great support. I was actually surprised that my feet stayed relatively dry during a flash rainstorm. However, the rain made the bottom of the shoes slick and reduced traction, which I discovered when we entered a building with very smooth floors. I slipped a little but didn't fall (thus reducing one star).

First the good: Thick sole
First let me say that I wanted the Mary Lou sneaker again but it didn't come in black, only white, and I wanted black. First the good: Thick sole, slightly elevated heel, totally protected foot, strong and comfortable except for the not so good: the tongue digs into my foot, I have to pull it to the side before I fasten the Velcro and there is no breathing room for the foot. On the bus in the sun my feet bake and at times are hot, red and swollen by the time I get home. Later...I had to toss these shoes. I don't know what is going on but the fit or the materials was making my feet suffer too much.

Disappointing and very dissatisfied!
My daughter bought me a pair of these shoes as a holiday gift in Dec. 2013 because I have worn this same shoe for quite a number of years and found them so comfortable in the past. However, these shoes were nothing like the same shoe I've worn in the past of this same brand and style. I wear a size 8-1/2 medium and this time the shoe fit too loose in the heal and does not hold my foot secure. The worse thing was that no amount of "breaking in" has helped with the comfort of the shoe because the leather is way too stiff and the soles are hard as a rock with no softness and flexibility which I liked so much in my previous pairs. There is sufficient toe room, but seemed sized all wrong and totally comfortable for walking. Either the manufacturer has gone to cheaper materials or they are very inconsistent in their production, which seems obvious from the wide range of comments I've read about these shoes. I will never buy these shoes again.

Hard, stiff soles!
I ordered 2 pair of these, one for my daughter and one for myself--both size 7 wide. They are the exact same shoe in different colors, but her's (white with blue) are wider than mine and are more comfortable. Mine are hard as a rock and hurt my feet worse than high heels. Also, they are supposedly "wide," but they squeeze my toes. I am not overweight and my feet are not really wide, but these squeeze my toes as if they were a narrow size. These have to be the most uncomfortable walking shoes I've ever had in my life. And they seem to be inconsistent in sizing, as my daughter's are a little wider than mine. One reviewer talked about the bad quality control of these. I wholeheartedly agree. Some of them might be okay, but mine are awful. It feels like I'm walking on concrete with my toes being squeezed the whole time. Not what I'd call a "walking" shoe. All I have to do is put these on and my feet hurt--even if I'm sitting down!

Propet walking shoe
Got these for a resident at the nursing home where I visit who had diabetes and bad shoes but didn't yet qualify for diabetic shoes by prescription as determined by Medicare. Fine. She got these, which are actually the same shoe without "custom molded insoles." They're still better than what she was wearing before. She says she likes them and they feel fine. She wears them all day, and nobody has seen any callusing or signs of wear on her feet. And they look good, have the easy-to-walk curve on the sole, good arch support and Velcro closure for sore hand joints (as opposed to tying). Best yet, you can't really tell them from non-diabetic walking shoes, so she doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. She will get many months (or maybe years) of use out of these.
