I was hoping this item would work on my old Electrolux fridge that wasn't defrosting... I was pretty sure my defrost timer and my heating element were good and took a chance that this part was all I needed and would work on my fridge, and the gamble paid off. My fridge is working perfectly again... Thank you for making this product available at an affordable price. Highly recommended for anyone who might have an old fridge that isn't getting cold enough in the main compartment but is icing over in the freezer. It's a super simple part to swap out and can breathe new life into an aging appliance.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery Model# FGHC2379KP2 in the garage and saw that the temp on both the freezer and refrigerator started to go up one day. First thing I thought was that the coils were likely freezing over. Sure enough, I noticed the screws holding the panel to the back of the freezer had a build up of ice on them, as did the coil once I removed the panel. I ordered this part and defrosted the coils in the meantime with a hair dryer to get the fridge running as normal again. Took me about 15 minutes to swap the old defrost thermostat with the BlueStars unit and it's been running like new since!

The part from blue stars is working fantastic. My freezer now isn’t an ice cave from the planet Hoth. The reason for 3 stars is whatever dingleberry packed up the package that was sent to me forgot one of the electrical butt connectors in the bag, forcing me to go to the local Home Depot to buy one so I could install it. Where’s the QA? Anyway, installation was super easy. Oh, if you don’t have wire cutters, it’s gonna be a rough one for you.

After installing and using it for 3+ months, my fridge works perfectly. No more icing up and the bottom fridge warming up. Saved myself buying a replacement fridge. No instructions, but very easy installation from the internet. No soldering required. If your freezer is icing over and the bottom part is not cold. Just try replacing the defrosting sensor. Saves you some money.
