Fiebing's Purple Leather Dye 4oz

All the Fiebing dyes work well. Suggest you use a test piece before you dye your project. Light, heavy or even two coats on the practice piece first. Also wear work or examination gloves, this dye does not come off the skin easily.

Dyed soooooo much stuff purple

Others have mentioned that it leaves a metallic sheen. It does, until you seal the leather. See below for more info.I got a pair of expensive leather shoes second hand pretty cheap with the idea of refinishing them. I was hoping to refinish them white, as that was their natural color. But, when that didn't work, I went with purple, because...PURPLE.The dye went on to the shoes well. When it dried, it left a very metallic finish which others have mentioned. Had it stayed that way, it would have been cool! However, when I sealed the shoes with Angleus' Matte Acrylic Finisher, the metallic shimmer went away. You want to seal leather dye jobs so that the dye doesn't rub off on things it touches like skin, clothing, etc, especially with purples and reds. These can bleed very badly.So, if you want purple, go for it! It's stunning!

Was told leather dye would work on gourds but my purple turned metallic green.

On the left of the Picture the belt keeper dyed purple The main belt has a sort of metallic green purple look don’t know why it dyed that way I would rather have it purple but it looks kind of sick this way anyway the plan was to do a Drybrush of metallic green or gold but the dye kind of done it for me , but if when it’s completely dry and goes purple I will update this review if I don’t update this review It didn’t go purple , cheeeessss man like Jake
