Petmate 920-Pound Break Strength Tieout Cable, 10-Feet

I thought that thing was a solid buy. The leash really is quite durable. But the clip broke on my second day of use. And it's not like I was using it on a 100 pound hound.They should upgrade to carabiner or something better. I ordered a pair of carabiner to make use of the leash.

I am so grateful for this tie out for my Royalty. He's so happy that he can be outside in the backyard with me and or my son, yet he feels as if he's totally free to run around. Great price , durability and I received it quite fast, thanks.

Just what I needed

I bought this for camping. I use it to keep my ferocious 9yr old blind pug within the confines of our site so that no big critters with functioning eye sight try and snatch him for dinner.This cable works perfectly for wrapping aroung a table leg or tree stump. He is slow and doesn't pull much so I am sure he will never test the 920 lb threshold. This cable could probably tow my car if I ever got stuck. It's pretty durable and has a clear silicone-like protective layer over the cable itself so it won't fray and snag. It's also not so thick and heavy that it weighs him down. It's the perfect thickness.I'd recommend it.

The price of these were definitely on point for me. But more so they exceeded my expectations! I expected the cable to wear and break easily, but they have lasted 4 months so far and don’t look worn at all! Most definitely recommend! 5 out of 5 stars!

So I totally thought 30 feet was longer, so that’s my fault. Besides that, it came super fast and I still plan on using it! Delivered very quickly too!

These are great! My two rotweiller puppies are getting pretty big/strong, but they're no match for these cables. Chewing, running full speed, constantly getting them tangles around each other, no problems. After several months of use, I have seen no signs of wear that would effect the strength of the cables.

This plastic coated metal tie out is an affordable option. However, the plastic does crack pretty quickly. It hasn't affected the performance yet, but I will probably have to replace this item with in a year of buying it. Still it's cheap enough to make it worthwhile to me.

The tie out looks a lot heavier in the picture and in the description it states: All Petmate products feature super strong, galvanized aircraft cable, coated with crack –resistant vinyl. 30-Feet cable with a 1700-Pound break strength.I was surprised when I received these tie outs (bought 4) and they stated for dogs up to 50 lbs. Yes, I realize now that the title does say 920 lbs break. I guess I went by the description so that was my fault. The tie out are probably very good for smaller dogs, unfortunately that is not what I need.

I purchased this one as a replacement. The previous on lasted 11 months. This one lasted one year and one month.My dog is just shy of 30lbs'. Yesterday a neighbour brought him home to me after the line finally snapped and he wandered away. It is cracked and rusted in approximately 30 places. Hoping I have learned a valuable lesson as I have now purchased one that boasts being made for life in Canada - hopefully it works better than this one did 😞.

I have 3 large dogs with the largest being 80-90 pd husky with a very ‘high prey’, instinct. I live in the country now and he has broke a number of leads but this holds up to his sharp pull and chasing after the rabbits and chipmunks. I have used it for a yr or so and actually bought more to keep in the truck for when we travel. It is really good.

The description is pretty poor. It says 920lb breaking point but not the size of dog however when you receive the product it says up to 50lb dog which is pretty small. The leash looks pretty small.
