Metal Clay In A Day

My wife and I were going to be taking a Precious Metal class and we wanted to have some idea about techniques and equipment before we started.We went to a bookstore and looked in the craft section. The first book we looked at was "Metal Clay In A Day" by Tammy Garner. We didn't have to look at any other books. We opened it up and the first thing that hit us was the clear, close up pictures. Many pictures in instructional books are not clear or close enough. Tammy's pictures show in great detail what she is trying to describe.I ended up bringing the book to the class, and actually made the coiled "snake" pendant. It was so simple, and it turned out great.I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, whether a beginner, or someone who's experienced with precious metal clay.

I have not worked with metal clay before. I thought I would ruin a lot in the beginning; it didn't happen.The instructions from opening the bag to a finished piece it detailed with excellent photos. In this book, Tammy G. ensures your success through technique and technical instruction along with tips and alternative methods. If you want to do metal clay BUY this.

I have been looking desperately for alternatives to kiln-firing and this book clearly helped me find it! Can't beat the clear instructions, illustrations and inspirational ideas and tips too. I am truly impressed with the details this author provides and the techniques she so clearly presents. For a rank beginner in PMC, I am glad I found this book to get me started.

There are many ideas in the book and I'm using them with PMC.

This book is exactly what I was looking for. I am new to metal clay but tend to learn quickly...This book is perfect because it explains everything for beginners and yet includes intermediate projects for those with more experience. I wish I'd found it a year ago!

This is a very nice book for beginers. Simple and informative. For art inspiration I would prefere books by Irina Miech.

Book in good readable shape

Great for novices! Lot of fill, but if starting from scratch, it's perfect. Instructions are clear, simple, and short. Fun!

A thoroughly simple book, easy to follow. Shows how one can save money by using every day objects instead of expending more money on specific websites. I read then reread the whole book. My 14 year old grandaughter enjoyed it too. We are going to start some of the projects. Gives good, sensible tips and ideas. Managable projects. Should produce better results for beginners like us.

Great book for newbies easy to follow shows everything you need to know to get you started has some interesting tips and great design ideas
