Fluidmaster Flush 'n Sparkle Bleach Toilet Cleaner Refills, 2-Pack

Please contact Fluidmaster. The contents (model 8302P8) produce blue water & staining, suggesting mislabeling or contamination with bluing agent. The package is marked 8302 but contains cartridges that have the bluing agent. I thank you for the refund. I want to order the bleach only as I have used them before and this product is excellent, getting rid of under-the-rim mold and helping us keep the toilet nice and clean. The bluing agent, however, is not desired because it stains, making streaks on the side of the bowl and a ring at the water line so that I have to use a pumice stone to get it out. However, it does not turn the water blue? The standing water in the bowl is clear, but still produces the blue ring? I would like a reply before I move on to another brand :)

Cleaning a toilet is not fun and this product virtually does the work for you inside the bowl. Other products that drop in the tank can damage parts over time with harsh chemicals and I have dealt with replacing flappers, etc. Products that hang on the bowl are simply not that effective. This product keeps the bowl clean with only an occasional light scrubbing, yes maybe once or twice a month depending on use. I prefer the Bleach version which gives the entire bathroom a light, clean smell and keeps the bowl crystal clear. It is important that you start out with a clean bowl including under the rim where water jets are - get a small mirror if you have to look under the rim, you may be shocked at the mineral build-up under there. Installation is simple with the included instructions and only takes a few minutes. For me, the cartridges last for 3 months and are super easy to change. Stop buying all those ineffective tank/bowl treatments. I have been using this product in 2 bathrooms for over a year and it has already actually saved me money. You will not regret using this product!

I live in an older home with older pipes, and I found myself constantly battling the black film and grime that would build up, even though I cleaned the toilets manually on a regular schedule. This product has completely changed the way I cleaned my toilets. It is so effective gone are the rings of grime gone is the film of black stuff that would build up on the underside of the ring in the toilet. Magnificent, easy to use. Replace the cartridges in one minute. This has got to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. And the absolute best part of this product is that it does not let the bleach come in contact with the rubber parts in the tank like those drop in tablets that were rotting the flapper and rubber gaskets on the tank bolts. So it solved two problems.

Finally, something that will keep the bowl clean without damaging tank mechanism. Now, give me an easy way to clean the tank! I've used this for over a year in two toilets and learned a few things. Make sure the o-ring is in the right place and remove the cartridge a week or two before its due for a change and check how much of the cleaner is left. Depending on how often you flush, you might find it gone or, like our guest bath, plenty left.

As a licensed plumber I had been looking for something for a long time to recommend to my customers to keep the ring in the bowl, so I tried the product at our house first myself to test it out before I decided to recommend it to my customers,.and I have to say it works really great and it does keep the ring out of the bowl. Now Fluidmaster recommends replacing the cartridge every 3 months, however it varies from household to to household, it all depends on how often the toilet is flushed. I wish they would have recommended the amount of flushes for each cartridge rather than months. if you're Flushing a lot more often than usual I would recommend replacing the cartridge every 1 1/2 to 2 months as it can run out before the third month. I replace ours every two months in my household. With that said you will just have to monitor it check the cartridge from time to time see how fast it's dissolving to determine when it needs to be change it out, but the product works really great and I do recommend it to my customers. (A little disclaimer) here, we personally have a water softener with a water conditioning system at our home. If you have really hard water and you don't have a softener or conditioning system at your home the results May very. I don't have enough data on that yet to make that determination vet. Another common question that a lot of my customers have about the product is, does the chlorine going to affect the parts in the toilet tank itself? and the question is NO the way it's set up in the toilet tank it diverts the chlorinated water into the filush valve tube and down into the bowl on each flush so the chlorinated water only goes into the bowl not the toilet tank itself. And this product is very easy to install. Another question I get will this work on any toilet and from what I can see it works on just about any toilet I haven't come across one yet that it didn't work on.

Works fantastic. No longer have the hard water rings and stains. The scent is a very mild bleach. It was easy to install.

Who likes to clean toilets ? No one... There are dozens of products that claim to make cleaning the bowl easier. Blue pucks, stick on jells, things like that. In my experience, the blue pucks just look pretty, don't last very long and just don't seem to do the trick. Likewise the stick on jelly things don't work any better, are hard to apply and some smell so strong, you'd almost (almost...) prefer a dirty toilet. Well this product is completely different. This is made by Fluidmaster, the company that makes a huge majority of the toilet flushing mechanisms (in the USA at least). This alternative system REALLY works! And since its from them, you can feel confident its not going to damage the internals of your toilet. The system comes with a holder for the cleaning insert that is easy to install. Simply disconnect the hoses that exist and reconnect them to put this in the path of the water when the tank fills. The instructions on how to do this are very easy to follow. Then just install the canister containing the chlorine (and maybe other chemicals, I'm not a chemist) and you're done for 3 whole months! At the end of the 3 months, simply unscrew the cartridge, install another. Easy peasy. I've had this for almost 6 months and am completely satisfied! Of course the toilet still gets a little dirty, but not often and a simple swish or two with a toilet brush every few weeks is all you need. Switch to this system today, you'll never go back to whatever you did before!

Some people complain that this is hard to install, leaks, or water don't run through it. I have been a plumber for 40 years and am well aware of the Fluidmaster line of products. I have never tried these until now, I bought two of he bleach systems and one of the blue systems just to try them out. First of all they are very easy to install and work perfectly. You have to be aware that you can install the cartridge 180 degrees off. The cartridge goes in at two places on the circumference of the top circle where you hold it to screw it in. If you get it in tight at 180 degrees off, I noticed the water would not flow through it. I tested both of the bleach systems I had purchased just to be sure. If the cartridge seems a bit hard to tighten down, just turn it 180 degrees and screw it in. Any way that is what I have determined by testing this device. As for the chlorine smell, it is faint, and seems not to pose a hazard. My toilet bowls were clean or so I thought, but I did notice only after a couple of flushes they seemed brighter and some hard water deposits were washed out of the bowl jest you could see them running the down the inside of the bowl with the flow of the water coming from the jets around the rim of the bowl. I usually use lime away down the overflow tube and let it sit overnight to clear the jets of hard water and scale build up from normal use but I had neglected to do that for awhile. This product seems to be taking care of it but not as fast as lime away would. I will let it do it's job and check back on it until determined if it does remove all the deposits in the jets. Hooking up this gadget is a breeze took me all of three minutes to do both toilets including cleaning them to give the product a head start. Since I use the fluidmaster fill valve all I had to do was clip the system over the back of the tank at a distance that was convenient for the length of the water tubes. I disconnected the tube from the fill valve that feeds the overflow tube, and replaced it with the inlet tube of the cleaning system. I took the outlet side of the cleaning system and attached ti to the top of the overflow tube with the included clip. Quick easy, simple, almost fool proof and it actually appears to work. I like it and give it three monkey wrenches up. I like the Blue better because it cleans and gives the bowl kind of an ambience with the blue color. This product would only be better if they scented it to cover the slight chlorine smell.

I like the fact that it's easy to install and maintain. It does not eliminate cleaning, but it does stretch the times before it needs cleaning. A fairly well-thought-out product, but a little misleading in advertising, because it does not eliminate cleaning forever. I will continue to use it, because it does help. Edit: The cost for refills has risen astronomically recently, and I won't be buying any more refills at these prices. Shame, it is a good product.

Hi There: I'm 80 yrs young and live alone. I have 2 washrooms and use them constantly. (I'm old!) Each one lasts me 6-7 months and the bowls are SPOTLESS and smell hospital fresh!!! Can' recommend them enough. Ralph Ward
