Does the job with my 1ml B12 ampoules
I've been using it a few months now and it is fine for opening 1ml B12 ampoules. Yes, it's bigger than they are, but as long as you keep it upright after breaking the ampoule, the open ampoule just slips to the bottom without any spillage. My only reservation (apart from the environmental impact of yet another plastic thing) is that I'm not sure how long this is going to last.Edited to add: In light of the reservation about durability I mentioned in my original review, I feel I should add that it’s still going strong after an additional four and a half months of opening ampoules every other day.Edited further: a year and nine months later, it’s still working well despite being used every other day.

bought this as every time tried break the bottle to get the needle in t o give a injection always cut my finger this way easy to use and two sizes it takes my wife has aderison and has a emergencey injection any one with same or simulare type it worth the buy infact i told my chemist near me where to buy them from and have the deatails t opass on to there customers to order them

**UPDATE** After 1 year of use(used every other day) still in good working order, no problems.Very happy with my purchase, does the job, saving my fingers from cuts. I don't know how long it will last but it is in use every other day and no problems since I bought it 7 months ago.

Good for very small ampoules. will do the larger ones
The idea is good, once open it looks easy to use, but it is on the small side, the 3ml ampoules which come with the Antibiotics I am taking are just a bit too large to fit, and the 5ml ampoules I have to use nightly, not a hope of fitting in this device.Edit: When using larger ampoules, you just use the top half to snap off the ampoule, safer than doing it with fingers, would have preferred to be able to fully enclose before breaking. So 4 stars.

I don't like that with some of the smaller amps they drop down when the top breaks and are therefore a bit fiddly to draw up properly. Does help reduce fear of broken glass to the fingers though. Bit tricky/fiddly to use. Might just go back to using the syringe wrapper to snap the amps

Worth the money if your snapping lots of vials like me so that you don’t puncture your hand with glass. Quality piece of kit
