Works great.
Don't listen to the people that say it goes high in tap water. It does, but that's because that's not how it's meant to be used. Get it in your tank and get all of the bubbles out and it works great. Mine was getting towards the top of the green area so I topped of my tank with RODI water and I could watch the gauge go down as the salinity went down. Great accessory to have in my tank.

Worst hydrometer ever
It doesn’t work at all it just stays all the way up floating .. even with fresh waster .. there’s no way to measure gravity of water like that.. j thought fluval a good brand but I was wrong. Please don’t buy .. it doesn't work

Fluval Dependability
I’m a Fluval tank owner so I trust the results of the hydrometer. My LFS uses the same one so it was a no brainer to get. Very important as part of your maintenance in your saltwater aquarium.

Surprisingly works :)
I keep it in the tank and it adjusts with salt level changes. It is not as accurate as my electronic but it alrerts me to salt fluctuations. I think overall it is a very good tool.

it's alright
if you need to read your salinity quickly it's easy to use but I would have rather bought a refractometer, but overall it is still a good product and i would recomend

Not accurate at all.
I’ve used one of these type of salinity tester 10 years ago that worked great. This one reads off the charts with any salt level. After about 10 dunks in freshwater I got it to read the salinity accurately one time and then back to off the charts again. Don’t buy it.

I'm impressed!
As a fresh water only hobbyist, since my Freshman year in high school 30 years ago, I recently just got into the saltwater aquarium hobby. Even though I'm still learning, this thing works like a charm. My readings speak for themselves. I like that it can be stuck to the inside of the aquarium, via suction cup. I let it be my guide for mixing, etc. Yes, I highly recommend this product!

Not so great. It isn't accurate. Also doesn't have a wide range.
Doesn't work all that great. It is quite a bit off and just not consistent. I will use it for water changes as seems to be ok in a period of time to show the same s.g. for the freshly made water vs my tanks, but whatever it reads, probly isn't accurate. I get out my refractometer everyonce in a while to check my water. This is just used to when I do a water change to see if I am at the same specific gravity between the two. But if you were using this to check your water... Wowzers.Go get a glass cheapo hydrometer. And just use this like I do. Or get a refractometer ;)
