This is a piece of junk and fell apart the second time I used it. The handle is not knotted or joined in any secure way. It is merely glued, and glued poorly. As a result, the loop became unfastened when my dog pulled and the whole leash slipped right through my hand. Fortunately no harm was done and I was able to my dog home safely but this product is being returned immediately.***UPDATED***I returned this product disappointed, as I wanted to enjoy this product. Fortunately, Amazon made the return process easy and painless. Approximately one month later, I was gratuitously contacted by the seller. The seller informed me that many of these products had experienced the same problem I had experienced - the leash came unglued and pulled apart. He informed me that he had a quality control problem with some of the leashes, and I apparently received one of the defective ones. He advised me, "Our New 2015 Model has an updated handle that is Steel Reinforced under the plastic Y-Connector. The old leash was only bonded which did not always hold up as you found out. We recently recalled all of the leashes from Amazon, and replaced them with the New 2015 Model."The seller offered to send me a new and improved leash free of charge. It arrived within two business days and I can now fully recommend this leash. The reflective material is braided around the outside of the leash, which provides 360 degrees of reflectivity. I estimate this leash can be spotted in the dark by a driver from hundreds of yards away. The leash itself is fairly robust and thick and easy to hold. I ordered and received the 4-foot version, which keeps my dog close to me. My dog stands approximately 22" tall, so this length may be too short for smaller dogs. The clip seems adequate and is a bit larger than ones I have used, which makes it easy to attach and detach with gloves on. The overall construction seems solid.I must commend this seller for his commitment to customer service. It was a pleasure to do business with someone concerned about customer satisfaction. I am glad that I can now recommend this product.

This is a stout, four-foot leash that doesn't tangle, even with the most enthusiastically whirling dog at the end. Since our dog weighs only about 25 pounds it's not like he puts a ton of strain on the leash hardware, despite still being a fairly active puller.The reflective strip is highway-sign bright and, unlike webbing leashes, offers 360-degree reflectivity. And, the soft, braided construction makes for a MUCH more comfortable wrist loop than the wrist loop on webbing leashes.The clip opens wider than most and seems to be good quality hardware. But, the spring is on the soft side. It's come undone a couple times, although that may be user error (as with most clips of this type, you should always give it an extra thumb flick to make sure it's fully closed). I would love to see this leash with a carabiner-style clip or something with a more-positive latch.In all, the superior reflectivity, vastly improved wrist comfort, and reduced tangling makes this a winner.

We really liked this leash even though it wasn't what I thought I was buying. My vet was complimentary as it was the right length. We liked the reflective quality and sturdiness of it. However, we thought it was chew resistant, which it might be, but it is not un-chewable. Our Pitt-bull Terrier has easily chewed it when he gets excited or doesn't want to follow, and trust me we do our best to not let him chew it but his teeth are sharp. The plastic on the handle was no match for him and he has shredded it in multiple places. We duct taped it back up and we keep on going so far. This isn't the first leash he has destroyed and probably won't be the last.

These leashes are awesome and exactly what we were looking for. Great quality and value. We purchased 2 of these for our 55lbs dogs. Our neighborhood does not have good lighting and has tight street corners with limited visibility. So, safety on night time walks is a concern. These leashes really illuminate when car lights shine on them. You can see the cars slow down as they approach. On several occasions, neighbors driving by us while we are walking have stopped to comment on how bright the leashes are and what a great idea they are. Regarding the strength of the leash, they are really sturdy and we have not had any issues when our dogs decide to go bonkers as other male dogs pass by.

We originally purchased this leash in March 2016. It is highly reflective and I have also found that using a 4' lead versus a 6' gives my dog plenty of length to sniff and explore but it is short enough that I have control over him and we can be at a comfortable walking distance.Unfortunately the clip part of the leash broke at the beginning of November. I contacted the sellers and they were quick to respond and let me know they would replace the leash with an updated clip style free of charge.I was happy with the leash before, but I am even more happy with the customer service I received. Great leash, easy on your hands, haven't had it long but it seems to be very strong.The glow in the dark is great for night walking. Update on my first review ,this leash is falling in less than a year. So I purchased another one just received it and took my dog for a walk in 30 min. The leash fell off 3 times from my dog shaking her head. The clasp on this leash is extremely poor quality. Protecta Pup leashes won't protect your dog, leash is very unsafe.

Works great and give me better control of my Husky. Handle feels comfortable around my wrist, and if I need more control I wrap the soft braid around again. With the better confidence and control the leash keeps her right where she needs to be at my side and still gives a little leeway but enough to snap the distraction away. Better control makes for a better walk and run for both me and my pup! The reflective coating is an added bonus too! great leash!
