A Must Read for Anyone for Whom Human Decency is Important!
I bow to Sara Pascoe for what she’s has been through to become the comedian, author and teacher that she is. Animal bespeaks the candor and decency we need bring to the fore in support of girls and women, but also boys and men. Thank you, Sara, for your humor, brilliance, clarity and for revealing what otherwise belongs to your privacy... you help us all.

Very well written and funny book bringing a lot of up to date insights to human relationships
It’s very well written, with some real laugh out loud moments. It’s also very interesting and I learned a lot I thought I knew was wrong. It’s also very personal to Sara and shockingly honest. I very much admire how she is able to self analyze herself and just like the rest of us accept that knowing why she is the way she is doesn’t help her change any of it. I always thought if I was more self-aware, if I understood the mechanics, I could change things but no.A really funny book with some great insights into human relationships and her personal experiences.

Comedian Sara Pascoe takes her wonderful sense of humor into the world of female experience and shares a tremendous amount of research, knowledge and information about women’s bodies and issues, all with cutting humor and a humanist approach. A fantastic read.

Great exploration of humanity
Plenty of info and research I took off one star because for me personally a lot in the beginning was stuff I already knew.

I couldn't even finish it. Bits of purient information you could pull from Wikipedia yourself.
There is not a single good thing about this book. I would say a tree didn't have to die in cain, because I didn't finish it, but that's true of Kindle not this book. 60 year old, straight white men are not the target audience.

Can't recommend enough!!
This is one of the very few books that has a) taken my breath away b) left me speechless and c) made me want to shout out from the rooftops just how bloody great it is - all at the same time.Literally, i can not find positive enough words to show how much i love this book; the last time i was in actual awe of a book was with Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues. This book is hillarious, easy to read, extremely informative and (in places) gut wrenchling and brutally honest; all in equal measure, all at the same time.I honestly believe that this book should be read by all women (and men actually!) it should be part of the sex education classes.I'm 33, I've been Married and attempted to get Pregnant for many years; i thought i knew most of what there was to know about the female body. How wrong was i??! I've learnt so much by reading this book. I've laughed out loud, gasped in amazement, cringed in shame and weeped with sadness and horror.Sara Pascoe has written this book in such a seamlessly effortless and honest way; to the point that i forgot i was reading, as it felt like i was down the pub having a heart-to-heart with one of my nearest and dearest.Right from the introduction i was hooked; i couldn't stop reading. If i allowed myself, i could've very easily read it from cover to cover in one sitting. The only thing that stopped me from doing so was knowing that I'd be sad when I'd finished reading it.I seriously can not recommend this book enough; it honestly is a must read!Ps; the footnotes are fantastic all by themselves! As are all the charity website links, recommendations of further reading and the 'shouty appendix'.Ooh i almost forgot the diagrams; very informative indeed.Thank you Sara Pascoe, for writing this book (and quite honestly baring your heart and soul for all to see)!!

Brilliant
My girlfriend told me to read this book and as it was only a couple of quid on Kindle I did. Sara Pascoe writes so well, she's funny, relatable, and easy to understand, but most importantly intelligent. She condenses a lot of complex ideas into a more consumable format, and offers her opinions on a wide variety of topics, but I never felt that she was overly preachy or forcing her opinions on the reader, even when she admits to strong feelings on the issue. She made me reconsider my stance on certain issues, and I have thoroughly enjoyed discussing interesting extracts with my girlfriend. Would highly recommend this book to everyone

A very light way of being informative
Initially this is a book by a comedian about her personal experiences, view points and research of the female body, mind, sex and sexuality. As a man reading it there were parts that make you laugh, but it is far more impressive as a book of learning. Replace some of the age old books on the curriculum with Sara's book and the majority of teenagers would have a much better idea about themselves.Boys and men these days are bombarded with unhealthy images and rumours about the opposite sex, in reading this you are reminded just how wrong the media and porn are misrepresenting love, passion and equal partnerships. In this book both genders can learn in mostly a light hearted way how to be better and understand more. There is something positive to learn in this book for everyone.

Surprisingly serious discussion of sexuality
I have to be honest that I was expecting this to be a flippant and lightweight read and, although it is far from bleak, it turned out to be a thoughtful and well researched discussion of a range of topics like to the female anatomy. Open where topics have differing points of view but determined in presenting an argument. I thoughly enjoyed this and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Loved it
I wish that this book had been available to me a decade ago when I was 20 though I feel privileged to have been able to read it now. Sarah's book is an excellent platform for what it sets out to do, she writes with great wit and passion, and provided not a small amount of education along the way to this chap in early 30s. Some of the topics are difficult to read, but I felt I owed it to the author to read through the bits I felt challenged by as the appropriate actions of reasonable human. My partner got the audio book after I'd raved about it so much and doing so has led us to discussing many of the topics on a really personal level - this in itself is worthy of me giving it the full 5 stars. This should be placed on the standard reading list for all men to do some proper book learning - I will be recommending it to all my be-penised friends. Bob on.
