Works great with my macbook pro, but gets hot
I'm worried only about the heat that this USB hub emits ... it's definitely not the best thing probably to keep connected the whole day. The good is that Wi-Fi still works with it ( yeah, there are such hubs which cut out wifi connection, not this one! ).Three stars because of the heat. Heat means it drains a lot of power and probably I will not use it while on battery.UPDATE: Further degrading from 3 stars to 2 stars. I can't seem to use the USB2 ports without a USB-C power plug. Seems the provided power is not enough for my external USB DVD Reader ...

I've had an 11 month love/hate relationship with this USB C hub
On the whole the hub has done its job I suppose. I bought it to connect my HP Spectre x360 laptop to an external monitor as a second display. I chose this hub specifically because it was the only affordable option which ticked all of my requirements for ports. I needed a HDMI port and 3.5mm jack for connecting my monitor and external speakers. I also wanted USB C charging through the hub and an Ethernet port so I could use my laptop as a desktop setup without worrying about charge or WiFi strength.Bearing that in mind, I was disappointed when the audio port broke after a couple of days and inserted a buzzing noise over the audio being played. I returned my hub, bought a new one and was pleased to see the replacement unit didn't develop this issue.Despite the audio port being fine on the new hub I've noticed issues with the HDMI port which started to appear after five or six months. Initially, I noticed a "twinkling" effect on the monitor that were visible over the darker colours on the screen where it appeared that random pixels were sporadically flashing in a different colour. This soon led to short blackouts on the HDMI connection where the feed would go black for a few seconds before returning to whatever had been there before.*HDMI cables have been replaced, other devices connected to the display and other hubs used to successfully connect to the monitor leading me to believe the issue is with the hub alone.Despite having these problems (which have been incredibly disruptive) I'm still using the hub after almost a year. Honestly though, the main reason for this is simply the lack of an affordable alternative. Bearing that in mind I can't really recommend this hub UNLESS you really need this exact combination of ports.Personally, I'm planning on sacrificing the Ethernet port and swapping to an Anker 7-in-1 hub which will hopefully be more reliable and enable me to watch Game of Thrones without my screen turning off every two minutes.

Great hub!
This type C USB hub is compact but very useful for the MacBook.Featuring 1 USB-C port,2 USB 3.0, 1 HDMI, 1 TF/SD Card, 1 ethernet,3.5mm Audio Jack connections it allows you to connect to most accessories. I like that it also has a USB type C port so you can charge your computer whilst this is connected. 2 x USB 3.0 ports deliver at the super speed of 5Gbps, a revolutionary advancement compared to USB 2.0 port.I bought silver and it pretty much perfectly matches the colour of my MacBook. When plugged in, I would recommend putting your computer on a flat surface since there would a risk of damaging the type C connector if you caught it on your lap. This is due to it only having one point of connection, which will mean this is a real risk.So far I haven’t had any issues with a USB data stick.I brought this because of these quality controls: stable output, temperature protection, anti-over-current and anti-short-circuit; Certified by CE, FCC, RoHSOverall, it is a small, portable and very useful device that has allowed me to connect a lot more to my MacBook. With a added bonus this comes with a nice leather wallet to safely protect the product.

nice usb c adapter
it's actually really well designed, it looks nice whilst connected to my transformer 3 pro. the ethernet port on it is quite nice and is great for use in business meetings, due to not only having HDMI there, but ethernet and also slots for SD cards or a USB stick or 2. i am yet to figure out what sort of USB Hard drives i can connect, but i believe most standard USB hard drives will work while connected to a power source Ordered to use with my Dell XPS 13 as it has limited ports and no HDMI port like my old laptop. This usb c hub has the hdmi port I need plus three usb 3.0 ports, an ethernet port adaptor, micro sd and sd card readers. Works great, no issues with any of the ports I have used. Good connection and seems solidly built yet it is quite compact. Pity they did away with those on the new laptops, but as they have, this hub is ideal. It has the look and feel of a premium item as you might expect from the price and it just plugs in and works. I've had several different things plugged in at once and had the laptop charging through the hub and had no problems at all. The speed from usb seems reasonable - I used it to recover my data and settings from a backup usb disk onto my MacBook and all went without hitch. I chose this with a short cable as I thought that it would be better than having a hub plugged directly into the side of the laptop that might be more prone to getting bent as I use it mostly on my lap rather than on a table and so far that seems like a good choice.
