This is a real bamboo cutting board, two good kitchen knives, and some other stuff I'll likely never use. Great quality though.

I balked at the price-point on this a bit, but took a chance. I don't have a terribly high impression of Gerber as a brand (I know some people love their blades, but I do not), so I didn't go into this expecting much. I wanted a camp kit I wasn't going to be stressing about--- and figured this would fit the bill.It is surprisingly impressive. The whole thing fastens together with two pop-clips at the sides, and the cutting board appears to be of decent quality, even kitchen-quality. The inner plastic compartments are great for sorting servings, sides, prep space, and so on-- you know the drill. The real selling feature here though is the knives, which I was not expecting to love.The "chefs knife" is more of a santoku than a Western chef's knife, in style and shape, which is actually better for the camp/field application anyway. Right out of the box both this and the smaller paring knife are razor-sharp, over-performing on basic cut tests, and feel reasonably good in the hand. The handle materials (as I hoped) are durable and rubbery and easy to clean, so I can have stress-free camp gear that I don't need to worry too much about upkeep on.Is it with over a hundred bucks? I'm still not completely convinced--- but it is darn good set, reliable steel, and genuine convenience as a packaged kit. I'm impressed and looking forward to putting these into use fireside this coming season.

Just used it for the first time on a weekend camping trip. The organizing tray is big enough for all the other utensils we need, the knives are well balanced and sharp, and the two cutting boards was really handy for prep and serve. This really cleaned up my camp kitchen box with its well executed form factor.

The board set has all the items you need to start preping for dinner when camping outdoor. The set comes with two cutting board, 2 knifes and a small base container to help store small food items. The tray holds up well in outdoor environment, the base container also doubles as the storage unit for all the items that comes with the set. Perfect for outdoor camping life to prep for food!

In the end, this is actually a most basic product. Yet, herein also lay its value. It doesn't offer a whole lot of bells and whistles, but what it does, it does quite well. Two cutting boards, two knives and a secure case. The boards are excellent, and have rubber feet for stable cutting.First, you get a very secure package. By this, I mean, the boards and knives do not move and shift about. They are locked in solid and secure, and this offers both great peace of mind, as well as a certain future as to their care and longevity. For if they were to be jostling about, then they would quickly wear down and take weakness.Additionally, in the "meanness" or "heartiness" of their construction, there is also little extra to have to care for. Plastic handles. Simple yet good quality steel blades. Not a whole lot of upkeep, which for this type of set is again, well designed, ideal.As for the knives, they are sharp, but not overly so. Depending on how you appreciate your edges, you might want to take a few whetstones to these and hone the edge more. For me, initially they are sharp enough for road work. Still, I may yet bring them sharper, time will tell.All in all, this set should last for a long time, generations if well cared for and not overly used. If much used, they will simply serve out their term with honor.
