5.11 Tactical Rush 12 2.0 Tactical Backpack 24L Molle Laptop, Duty Tech Bag

Rush line of back packs and sling bags are imo worth the money. Excellent quality. Works for EDC and made sturdy. I have both the Rush 12 and the sling bag. I went to these bags after trying 3 different cheaper unknown branded bags. I wore through those bags in the same amount of time as I have had my Rush Sling bag. Now with the Rush 12 I am using them interchangeably for different occasions. 10 out of 10, 5-Star product.

I’ve had this bag for about two weeks now and have yet to find anything negative about say about it. It fits perfectly around my plate carrier and it has all the space I need for my EDC items e.g. books, tablet, and a light jacket. Would recommend to those looking for a 24hr bags.

I Love the fact it is also a chest rig. I've always hated having to take my backpack off to get my water bottle but with the power of MOLLE that is no longer an issue. It also has velcro space for patches and stuff. These two things easily make the value of this backpack a lot higher than what I though it would be.

The good: It's a great EDC bag. Enough room for all of the daily essentials plus items for an overnight. There's plenty of organization but I highly recommend packing cubes/organizing pouches for your gear to keep the bag well loaded and balanced. The material is bomb-proof and of excellent quality. Zippers are smooth and durable. The main section almost fully opens in a clamshell design so loading and finding your gear is easy. The front admin pocket offers decent organization with room for an organizing pouch as well. The whole bag is covered in molle webbing for customization. Light rain will bead off of the material but anything above a drizzle will eventually soak the material and water can come through. With a packable rain cover, I've been in downpours with this bag and had minimal leakage. The straps are well-padded, a little bulky, but they sit well on your shoulders. The sternum strap keeps the load across your chest instead of cutting into your shoulders. Very nice. I usually carry a couple of pouches for EDC tools/gear, a dopp kit for toiletries, and a skivvy roll (t-shirt, underwear, socks), and theres a little room left over for a lunch bag or for items you might pick up during your day. Because it is so robust, it will work well as a tool pack for the trades and will hold up well on job sites. The bad: The bag can wear a little on the heavy side. It's not an ultra-light backpack by any means but it makes up for that in its durability. It's bulky and tough. There is no dedicated water bottle pocket. If that's important to you and you don't want to put your water bottle in the main compartment, you'll have to get an attachable water bottle holster. There's plenty of molle webbing to accommodate such a holster, but it is an added expense. I have a foldable holster from Maxpedition and it works well with the compression strap holing the holster in place. The internal laptop sleeve kinda sucks. If I had my way I'd remove it. It's over-padded, takes up a lot of internal storage room, and awkward to retrieve your device. Very difficult if the pack is full. I usually do not carry my laptop with me but I think this pocket might be better used for a tablet that you might not need on the go. There is a water bladder section on the very back of the bag that could accommodate a smaller laptop but there is less padding although it would be easier to get to your laptop. All in all, I do not recommend this bag as a laptop bag. The concealed carry velcro pocket behind the front admin pocket is useless for that purpose, especially when the bag is fully loaded. This pocket can also collect rain as it's only held closed by velcro, and water can seep into the admin pocket and main compartment through it. I use this pocket to hold a crushable rain cover. Unless you keep the main compartment minimal, I don't recommend this bag for concealed carry. It's a tough EDC bag for getting around the city with everything you might need for a day/job site/overnight. Also, an excellent daypack for camping/hiking. In my opinion, It's not very suitable as a tech bag or for office use.

Great backpack for my daily needs. I paired it with attachments so that I can hold a water bottle on the outside of pack since it does not come with a pocket on the side. Zippers are heavy duty and the price is great definitely a quality looking backpack and built sturdy

I ordered this on August 8th 2025, today on August 22nd 2026 over a year later, this backpack is still going strong. I used it as a first responder, in firefighter/emt school, on rock climbing trips which I do every two weeks. I have taken it canyoning, I have have taken it camping, kayaking, and so on. Till this day is still a great backpack. If id change anything, I wish it came with a detachable waist strap and some free stickers. I will be buying another at some point.

Its great! Can pack for a whole day and it hangs on my shoulders comfortably. Would have loved it to be slightly bigger but the Rush 24 was too big for what I needed, I already have two 37 liter backpacks. This one is nice and easy to use for city trips and going out in the woods for a day, max 2.
