LG Electronics AN-VC500 720p Skype Video Call Camera, 2 MP, Stereo Microphone

We have a son serving in the Air Force and using this LG Skype Video Cam hooked up to our new LG Smart 55" Flat Screen TV for weekly visits has been a true joy for the family. It was truly 'plug n play' ease to set up. The video feed quality is very sharp at the receiving end and the two built in microphones work great in our open space Great Room. It was a blessing to have our son "bigger than life" in the room with us at Christmas and again on New Years Day. We will be Skyping with our Air man for many years to come, and as long as he is away serving his country in the military.

Camera works just fine but is very overpriced. I'd say it's worth it though, because the gesture control (to mute, change volume and channels) is very accurate and quite useful when the remote is out of reach. Also, Skype is amazing on a big screen TV.

This product is falsely advertised! Skype is no longer supported on Smart TV's - period - LG or no LG. PLEASE do me a favor and only buy electronics via PRIME and after doing research. The reason I bring this up is this: To return this item I would have to pay import tax along with shipping costs of over $35.00 and, according to the post office, it could take over two months to get back and then how long for a account credit? So is it worth a "crap shoot" against the original purchase price of $99.00? Again, let me reiterate - FALSE ADVERTSISING!

Works well. Workers broke my 2012 lg tv, they replaced free but the vc400 won't work right, so bought this as for 2013 model they replaced with, and works like the old one. Why they make by year though, but how it works. Love OKs the same, I see a Skype camera with Skype built in almost bought but played it safe.

Purchased this for my parent, they liked it. For me, the resolution was less than superior , and the picture is much faded. For my parents, the ease of setup and use was the big plus. I wish there was another option for the new 2014 LG smart tvs, but there isn't.

Camera didn't give a really clear picture and now I found out that my LG TV no longer supports Skype so I have camera I can't really use

Doesn't include a Skype client, which would have been nice. The LG TV we were connecting this to in our office was supposed to have a Skype client but our model of TV doesn't have one. Not the camera's fault, but would have been nice to have known before hand.As a standalone camera, it works flawlessly.

Very good camera and easy to set up. I now feel like I'm in the same room with my parents a thousand miles away. Thank you, LG!

Ho acquistato questa telecamera per utilizzarla con skype sul mio smart tv lg. Appena collegata, è stata immediatamente riconosciuta dal dispositivo ed ho potuto iniziare subito ad utilizzarla. I materiali di costruzione sono buoni, ed è molto pratico e comodo il velcro adesivo per applicarla alla tv! La utilizzo spesso per lavoro anche per qualche ora consecutiva. Carina la funzione di "rilevamento audio" che permette zummare in automatico e seguire la persona che sta dialogando anche se in movimento. Molto buona la risoluzione! Sono molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto.

I was looking for a while for a Cam that would fit with my LG TV.and work well for SKYPE, as I wanted to use it in the office in the boardroom. We have a small group but we use SKYPE a lot to connect as we are in multiple places.Super easy to set-up, I literally just plugged it in and it was ready to go. No issues at all, and we were doing SKYPE video calls immediately. The quality is impressive. It lets you zoom in to a quadrant, or pan out and other say the video is smooth and detailed.Highly recommend this one!

L'installation de ce matériel sur la télévision lg 4k 65p ne pose aucun problème. Il faut bien sur installer l'appli skype et surtout la trouver dans la liste lg... Sur skype on ne voit pas immédiatement que les appels se font en vidéo mais cela fonctionne bien. On peut zoomer x4 ce qui est intéressant pour un téléviseur assez éloigné. Le son est bon et fonctionne sans problème. Quelques coupures mais certainement dues à l'internet et pas à la caméra. Bon évidement elle est un peu chère...mais cela fonctionne sans problème.

I bought this to use with Skype on an LG 47LB730V TV running the latest firmware which is 04.45.04 at the time of writing this review.It literally takes seconds to install - the camera has a velcro backing on the black bar you see at the bottom of the picture and you can either use this with the opposing hook side to attach it to a TV securely or you can just let it sit and attach via magnetic force and then just hook it up to a USB port on the back of the TV (I used USB1).The 47LB730V doesn't appear to have the strongest magnets in the world but it sits there quite happily and so far hasn't had any issues with falling off.You can adjust the angle up and down but not left or right from what I can see and it doesn't have the widest angle lens so it will basically pick up what is in front of it.After connection the software of the camera was updated to match that of the TV and you can then access it via either the camera app on the TV which takes pics or videos and saves them locally or you can use Skype.Quality wise it's fine and appears like most PC webcams - it's not full HD but definitely does the job. It does get a bit grainy when there's not much light in the room but that's to be expected with any camera this sort of size that doesn't have a flash or light source on board.It's supposed to enable all the motion detection features of the TV as well so if you buy one of these you may want to check out how well that works.

El producto a mi parecer es excelente, su unico es uso es para hacer llamadas en skype. No lo compres si esperas algo mas. Su instalacion es simplemente conectarla, y para fijarla al tele aun mas facil. La resolusion es fenomenal, mucha gente dice que se veia mal, supongo que sera que la velocidad de subida de internet es muy baja. Yo la he probado con personas en varios paises (argentina, españa, francia y venezuela) Todos me han dicho que se ve muy bien.Evaluacion:Instalacion 5 estrellasResolusion 5 estrellasPrecio 4 estrellas (es un poquito cara).Mi tele es LG de la serie LB5700, y le compre de accesorios la barra de Sonido LG de la serie NB2540 (barra 2.1 de 120w Recomendada) y el dongle wifi LG AN-WF500 ( para hacer el sonido bluetooth y la conexion de internet wifi) este ultimo lo acabo de pedir y no lo he probado. Estos dos accesorios, en teoria, te permiten trasmitir el sonido de la tele a la barra de sonido de manera inalambrica, lo cual seria espectacular.
