I bought the Soundcore Select 4 Go Portable Bluetooth Speaker because I was looking for a portable speaker I could carry about with me in my backpack while on my travels. And overall I think it is an excellent budget-friendly portable speaker. It is small, lightweight and easy to carry, making it ideal for taking on trips, using around the house, or throwing into a backpack when heading outdoors. I loved it so much, I actually bought two! One of the standout features is the battery life. You get up to around 20 hours of playtime, which is impressive for such a compact speaker. It also has IP67 protection, so it is both waterproof and dustproof, and it even floats. Just make sure the rubber charging port cover is properly sealed before exposing it to water. Setting it up is simple. Hold the power button for two seconds to switch it on or off, then press the Bluetooth button to put it into pairing mode. The indicator light flashes blue while pairing, and once connected to your phone, tablet or other device, it turns solid blue. The physical controls are straightforward too: the play button pauses or resumes music, double-press skips forward, triple-press goes back, and the volume buttons work exactly as expected. The Soundcore app is worth downloading because it unlocks the customisable 9-band equaliser, sound presets such as Balanced, Treble Boost and Bass Boost, auto power-off settings, and firmware updates. Charging is done with the supplied USB-C cable and a certified 5V wall charger, with a full charge taking around four hours. If you buy two Select 4 Go speakers, you can pair them together for True Wireless Stereo by holding the Bluetooth button on both speakers for about two seconds. This is a great feature, but there is one important thing to check: both speakers need to be from the same hardware generation. You can check the serial number under the charging port cover or in the Soundcore app. If the seventh character is “C”, it is the newer upgraded version; if it is “0” or “1”, it is the older version. If you plan to buy two, it is safest to buy them from the same supplier at the same time. Sound quality is very good for the size. I was especially impressed with vocal clarity, which makes it great for podcasts, spoken-word content and casual music listening. The equaliser gives you a good amount of control over the sound, although the speaker’s small physical size does mean it cannot deliver really deep bass. That is understandable at this price and size, but worth knowing if heavy bass is your main priority. It is rugged, easy to use, has strong battery life, and sounds better than you might expect from something this small. If you want a compact speaker for travel, podcasts, casual music, camping, beach days or general everyday use, I would highly recommend it.

My dayzzzz this speaker is AMAZING (considering the size). Sound quality is so clean, clear and crisp. I LOVE base and though this does not give a deep base (expected for its size) there is a level of base that has me still enjoying my music (like I said the music is clean, clear and crisp). I can’t fault it. Got it on prime for £19.99 which is a steal for the quality you get from this compact speaker. It’s super loud, great for holidays, garden, picnic. I’ve enjoyed it whilst in my room doing work and cooking in the kitchen. Super easy to connect to your device. You won’t regret the buy. UPDATE: I didn’t read you can adjust the sound through the app. This has only just got better now that I’ve done this. I was already looking to buy a second without knowing this as many reviews mention playing from more than one. Worth buying 2 and worth more than what it currently cost. I would give it more stars if I could. I’ve used Sony and Bose this is my new fave.

A nice compromise between tiny tinny speakers and neighbour-annoying boom boxes. It pairs easily with my Iphone and the accompanying app helps me customise the sound. Perfect for hanging on the parasol whilst sitting outside on the patio, or for using in the bathroom without having to worry if it falls into water. I've used it daily for the last two weeks and haven't had to recharge it yet. Very pleased.

Fantastic speaker for its size and price. Feels very solid and well built. It looks good too. The sound is surprisingly loud and well-rounded considering how small it is. The carry loop is useful. You can use the app to adjust EQ settings if you wish (the Treble Boost preset sounds best IMO). The 20 hour playtime is accurate in my experience. Cons: It's quite slow to charge. For example, this morning using a 30W fast charger it's taken 70 minutes to charge from 30% to 70%. Also if you like using bluetooth speakers at night for quiet listening while you lay in bed you'll struggle to find the buttons with your fingers, as the slightly recessed row of buttons sits under a smooth surface with no tactile indication of where each button is. If you have weak hands you might find the amount of pressure required to press the buttons a bit high. Personally the cons aren't enough to reduce my score from 5 stars. I'm very happy with this, it's one of the best bargains I've bought in a while. PS: You can disable the power on/off/connection sounds in the Soundcore app by turning off Speaker Prompts in the settings.

I bought this speaker just after Christmas, so I've had plenty of time to use it and really get to know this speaker over the past month or 2. For a cheap speaker, it's packaged and built really well, you won't drop it once and regret it, nor will you be able to pull the mesh off with relative ease. It's small, rugged, waterproof and floats on water if you drop it in a pool or something. The battery last's an immense amount of run time. But with Soundcore being a sub-brand of Anker, you'd kind of expect that. It's got way more battery life than other speakers like the JBL Go 4 and the Sony SRS-XB100. I've charged this speaker maybe twice, in the roundabout 2 months I had it, and both of those times it wasn't flat. I last charged it about 2/2 and a half weeks ago and it's only just reached 50% after some very frequent use. The sound quality is good, it's not going to break any records and audiophiles aren't going to come and ask you what device you use. But it's good for a speaker in this price range. Out of the box, the mids are a bit much. Song with high hats in, and some voices can be a bit harsh. However, if you get the Soundcore app, tone down the mids and bring the bass and treble up a bit, you can easily fix it and turn it into a well rounded sound profile for a compact speaker. I give it 4 stars, just purely on the out of the box sound quality. If the base profile had a little less mids and a bit more bass/treble thrown in it would make a perfect, cheap, portable and long lasting speaker. Also, if the little loop band could dethatch to wrap around things, that would be a bonus too.

What a fantastic little speaker. I have bigger ones but they are heavy for taking travelling. This speaker is ideal, it is small, light weight and the sound is actually amazing. Would highly recommend this speaker, it is solidly made , robust and looks good. You cannot go wrong, Anker products are brilliant.

I love it. Quite good sound, size and weight perfect just to clip on a backpack. I was surprised by the very good battery life. I haven’t had the chance to properly test the waterproofing yet, but it withstood a light sprinkle of water. Definitely worth the money.

This has to be one of the best value bluetooth speakers you can buy. I love soundcore as a brand and also have some of their headphones. I bought this speaker last year and took it to a 4 day festival where it kept up the entire time, playing loudly for our entire camp of about 10 adults. Everyone was impressed with the sound quality this small speaker managed to put out. I like it so much i'm going to buy another this year, as i'm told they auto pair for a stereo music experience. The design is great too, available in eye catching colours, which more tech should be in my opinion. Waterproof and rugged, so it can be taken pretty much anywhere. I can't think of a single thing that would improve this, and you'd be wise to pick it over anything bigger, unless you're planning a rave with hundreds of people.

Muy buena opción económica, me ha salido bastante bien para cuando voy en bici o en senderismo, me ha aguantado bastante la pila y el sonido está bastante aceptable, puedes ecualizarlo desde de app movil, es compacta y resistente.
