Exactly what I needed, small , bright, adjustable
Exactly what I was looking for and what was promised. small but bright and the width or "fatness" of the line is adjustable, as you can see in provided images where the module is about 2.5-3 feet or 1m from target. Good value, I was worried that they may not be bright enough for my application at only 5 mW but it may seem to be just fine.

Just what I needed for my Laser Swamp
Coupled with a simple buck converter, these laser modules were perfect for my DIY laser swamp effect. Can't wait to run them longer than an hour outside and see the magic.

Works great with a 3.3v Buck Converter
Added this converter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D3B277BD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1) and an old cell power adapter and these worked perfectly for our haunt. Some 3D printed parts to hold things in place and this proved to be a great budget option for us.

Very bright, very straight, very hot, but also very cool
This is a pretty cool device. It does not *run* cool, but the cool factor is high. You'll note in the specs that the nominal input voltage is 3.7vdc. I'm guessing that's planned, cuz that's pretty much what you get out of a single lithium cell. For my outdoor test I connected it to an 18650 and it works just fine. It draws 0.38A at 3.7vdc. You can't really see it in the picture of the pavement, but the green is actually visible to the eye all the way to the end, which is in excess of 25m (80'). Part of the reason you can't see this happening is that there's a tremendously bright white motion activated light shining right down on that pavement; the camera is compensating for that. Regardless, the fact that the laser light is itself so bright when that white light is on is a pretty good indication of just how bright this is. I fiddled with the trim pot but it didn't do anything obvious to the light output and did not affect the amount of current it was drawing, so I'm not sure what that's about. It does run warm - in particular the LM358 dual op amp (see thermal image). It became quite uncomfortable holding the bare circuit board in my hand - not recommended. You'll want to mount this in/on something, and maybe consider a heat sink or some ventilation or both.

2-pack of green line lasers
These 532nm green line lasers are great. I tested both at 3.3V (they are 3.7V max) and they both worked great, very bright, and a very nice sharp line. Although I didnโt stress test them, they are supposed to have reverse polarity protection, which is nice, and draw less than 250mA. The brass shell feels solid. Easy 5 stars!
