The reviewers that call it junk because they couldn’t figure out the calibration process are quite obviously lacking in the most basic of comprehension skills. This product works great and is very easy to calibrate. The one star reviewers here deserve one star for their application of intelligence. They are just too lazy to follow the instructions but not too lazy to run their mouths untruthfully about this fine chlorine and ph meter.Skeptical buyers like myself, take heart. This meter works perfectly.

you have to use the traditional color/water test to calibrate.

In the first place why am I using a wild guess test strip matching system to calibrate this device? From the get go the readings could only be as accurate as the inaccurate strip. Even then the CL reading is so far off the mark it is useless. Even worse with freshly cleaned electrodes in a solution that the color matching reads highly acidic the device reads PH OK. I'm tossing it in the trash.

I'm a professional. I carry the reagents necessary to test pool water and calibrate this meter, and I've been CPO certified for over 10 years. I thought I would try this and see if I could save some money on the expensive Taylor stuff.I'm on my my second tester. Neither lasted a month.The pH side of the tester was NEVER near accurate, not once.The Chlorine side was ok... for about 2 weeks. Sand probes before every use and calibrate once per day. Then it stopped. I'm guessing it gets an ORP reading and scientifically guesstimates the free chlorine equivalent. Who knows. It's never been dropped and has never been wet, save for the probes.I gave it 2 stars only because the chlorine side kinda worked. Until it didn't.Spend a little more or a little less on a proper test kit.

Disappointed. It works once calibrated. Have to first calibrate and since I only have the sticks to measure I am not sure the exact Cl ppm reading. Use best guess. Then u have to remember the dial setting. I can’t remember where I put my keys last let alone the dial position. Gave it 4 because it does work but not as convenient.

Difficult to calibrate but works well.

Read the instructions over and over and followed them step by step. When calibrating it for the chlorine the needle doesn’t land on a letter to be able to adjust to that letter before reading the chlorine. If I could have given it negative stars I would have. This tester is Nothing more than a paper weight

Have been using test strips on spa very expense an a lot of trouble. This tester is half the cost of strips and it work good. I should have l purchased it long ago. It is very good product.
