After the break up with the love of his life two years previously, James Van Der Bexton - approaching his 30th birthday - has taken up Speed Dating without much success. Despondent, he turns his attention towards a mysterious young woman who frequents his local bar. In trying to discover more about this woman, James plays at being a private detective with disastrous but hilarious results! It's not stalking... It's research.

NOT "about" Speed Dating, as in the title. But probably be a good 1st {regular} date movie.
Just like the practice of speed dating is a gimmick that desperate people use to try to set up linger term dates, using "Speed Dating" as the title of this movie is a gimmick used by the production company, System 48 LTD, evidently in a desperate attempt to attract viewers who will do more than just watch the "Speed Dating" trailer.The good news is, the movie IS actually about something much less superficial: what can happen if you let go of the traumas of failed dates and failed relationships in your past, then just be yourself and be open to an honest relationship. Always good to see a hero going after an idealized or mystery love interest, than realizing that the right person is most likely to be someone you would otherwise be glad to be "just friends" with.I did find most of the speed dating scenes in the movie a mostly irrelevant and unrealistically portrayed distraction from the rest of the movie, with exaggerated characters all around, mostly for the purpose of taking the piss out of the most desperate speed daters so that any "real" speed dating viewers could feel better about themselves.That said, it was not a bad Rom Com, and not a bad self-help movie, and I enjoyed the street scenes that looked like the real deal, so I gave this movie a solid 4 stars.

Ditto to what the other review said - it's not about speed dating. It's a quirky comedy. I'd watch it again.

This a a romcom with heart and some nice performances and clever directing. Well done, folks!

Funny, engaging, very well acted, completely enjoyable movie
Phenomenal acting by Emma Choy (the nurse) and others. Plot should have been stupid (amnesia) but was enjoyable due to the nutty characters, including a nutty cop; a psychiatrist with common sense (that was really unbelievable), a sister who was probably from another planet... A little typical British bad language but otherwise clean. This is second time I watched it, I didn't appreciate it enough the first time --- very nice.
