Guo Pei: Couture Beyond

So many photos of the beautiful dresses Guo Pei has created over the years! They are works of art!

Guo Pei has an eye for beauty and talent that sets her apart. Once I noticed her lines a while back, I’ve tried to keep up with her each season and she continues to amaze. And this book gives plenty to admire. I think it’s more than fashion, closer to art.

This is a stunning book, featuring the work of a brilliant designer.

I have purchased this book as a birthday gift for my daughter. The work of Guo Pei is superbly displayed in this wonderful book.

She is an amazing designer with the most incredible artisans working on her designs. Hats off to SCAD for scoring this exhibition and making such a beautiful book. Would highly recommend this book

One of most beautiful haute couture books I‘ve seen. An art piece in itself. Full-page glorious plates of uniquely fabulous “gowns”, the word “gowns” doesn’t do it justice. I’m an artist and adore this book. And it’s reasonably priced as well.

I went with a friend to the Guo Pei exhibit at the Bower's Museum. This book made the perfect follow up Christmas gift for my friend to remember the experience because the photos captured all of the details of the exquisite clothing so beautifully.

I saw this exhibit at SCAD in Atlanta and was blown away! I had never heard of Guo Pei, but she is incredible - right up there with McQueen (perhaps even beyond McQueen??) in my opinion. This book is an absolute delight.

Stunning Book. Totally EXCEEDED my expectations.What a talented designer. A work of genius.The combination of beauty and expertise from both the East(Guo Pei and her incredibly talented team) and West(the Savannah college of art and design) has blendedseamlessly to create a book SO beautiful and inspiring, thatit simply takes the breath away. As I turned each page, Icould have cried at the dream like loveliness that was revealed,again and again. When I closed the book, my heart literally sangwith excitement, I felt that I HAD to go and at least TRY to createsomething utterly gorgeous!!!!!! One of the most wonderfulbooks that I have ever bought and one of the last that I will everpart with. A huge "Thank you" to all who were involved in itscreation.

Paper and print quality are top notch. Although nothing beats seeing these pieces of art in person, these photos captured most of the details and colour of them. Great for those who missed the exhibit or want to have a reference on hand.

Dédié à l'oeuvre de la créatrice chinoise Guo Pei, cet ouvrage permet de découvrir à travers de très belles photos (notamment des détails des modèles), certains de ces plus beaux travaux de haute couture.Des photos de très belles qualités, organisées de manière simple et efficace. Une photo du modèle en "situation" (photo de mode classique); un plan large; des détails des broderies, chaussures, accessoires.Les seuls reproches que l'on pourrait faire à se livre seraient notamment son épaisseur (37 modèles présentés) et du coup son prix un peu élevé.Mais malgré cela, cet ouvrage reste un magnifique passage dans l'univers au combien riche d'une créatrice incroyablement talentueuse.

Un libro bellissimo con immagini straordinarie per raccontare l' incredibile lavoro che sta dietro ad ogni abito che è praticamente un' opera d' arte.Ottima qualità grafica. Ottimo prezzo!
