book
I like John Saul books and did not have this one so thought I would get it and hopefully get a chance to read it soon.

A good suspenseful story
Sleepwalk is a quarter of a century old now, and that shows in a variety of small ways as you read the book, but the plot remains relevant, it might even be more relevant now, given the advantages in technology and medicine. That relevance makes it possible to look past the dated elements and enjoy this. There’s not quite enough character development for my tastes, no-one is fleshed out quite as much as I would like, but there’s enough for the reader to care about them, and what happens to them. The writing is decent, and the scene-setting good, I can actually picture that blazing heat (I’d quite like to feel it) and the ending is both satisfying and contains more than a trace of poetic justice. This is a nice book overall and I recommend that you don’t let the age of it put you off.

Excellent novel
To say that this is a horror novel would be inaccurate because it is in many ways a mystery novel. More precisely put, this novel is a combination of both mystery and horror, mixed with a little mysticism, romance, and some social commentary.Nevetheless, just because the novel doesn't fit exactly into any of the established genre doesn't make it bad. In fact, this is a an excellent story that will keep you away from doing anything else but finishing this story. It certainly did for me.The novel does go into certain length to introduce the characters and set up the background, which tend to leave the reader hanging. But once the story pick up, you'll love it. Just have the patience to read the first several chapters, and everything will fall into place afterward.

Typical John Saul Book
Typical of almost every John Saul book, this book draws you in for an easy read. While it's (meant to be) a little disturbing, the feeling doesn't stick with you all day, thankfully. Although it's much like other John Saul books, that's not a bad thing. I want to read them all.
