If i upload a png file. will it be printed on a black background?

The original background of the mouse pad is white, like a plain sheet of paper. If the background of your PNG file is transparent or white, the background will remain white, if the background of your PNG file is black, the background of the surface of the mouse pad will be black.

What if I do not own the copyright of the image (sports logo, album art, etc)?

Its made in the US, not China, so my guess would be copyright still applies
