Full of Twists and Secrets and Lies
4.5 Twisted Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5Samantha Hayes... WOW! What a crazy ride you just took me on! I’d like to thank you for that and blame you for a sleepless night.... i’d suggest you go into this book completely blind, don’t read the blurb, don’t read the reviews (except for mine😉) this book was filled with twist that I did not see coming, and if you do major props to you! There were so many times I was certain I had figured it all out but NOPE!Lorna was a serious hot mess... she was self-centered, manipulative, a liar, and a therapist... I found this quite amusing, just what you want from a therapist for them to be a bigger mess than you are....Lorna also has a big secret, she had an affair... now the man is back and she can’t seem to stay away.... her feelings towards this man were obsessive... so obsessive that it caused problems not only in her personal life, but in her professional life as well.... I kept thinking there has to be more to this, to cause a intelligent woman to behave this way....The majority of the book is told from Lorna‘s point of view, with an occasional journal entry from her, and an unknown character named Nikki... Who is Nikki? Well I had lots of theories on this one, all wrong! Wonderful psychological thriller filled with all the twists and turns you’d want and an ending that was quite explosive!💥Absolutely recommend two fans of a twisty psychological thriller!*** many thanks to Bookouture and Net Galley for my copy of this fabulous book ***

Worth the read
This book took me a few chapters before I grasped the flow. It is a little slow but the ending was so worth the read! A lot of books are great with a disappointing ending but this book is quite the opposite. It's good but gets great towards the end. I didn't expect the the three, yes three, twists at the end. I will be looking for more books by Anne Holt.

Far fetched
I cringed as I read the book and the continuous bad choices made by the main character. The bad choices got very tedious to read over and over. The ending was outrageous. I was surprised, but it was very far fetched. It's a stretch that what happened in the main character's past would cause her to do what she did. Although trauma can cause extreme reactions, what she did was nonsensical and did not seem to fit her past trauma. Also the husband wasn't developed enough as a character for me to understand what the other character did to him. I almost felt badly for him, as there were only hints of his true character throughout the book. The ending was not believable to me, although it was somewhat of a twist. Because it seemed so outrageous, I am only giving 3 stars.

People are never who they appear to be.!
This book started a little slow for me but if you stay with it, it is a totally a never forget kind of book. I never foresaw the ending that came and was both shocked and mortified at the same time. The plot twist you never see coming and when it finally hits you, what's going on you cannot stop reading. I sat with my mouth open going "what"? This is the best read that I've had in a long time. Just remember things are never what they appear to be and be ready for an unbelievable read.

Wow!! Amazing!!
This novel kept me reading late into the night. The twists and turns were unbelievable. I still have some unanswered questions but was blown away. Lorna, a successful psychologist has a secret from her past and present. On the outside she has the perfect life, a wonderful husband, two children and friends. As the novel goes on who is Lorna and is she as perfect as it shows.

If you can get through the first 60% of the book, the last 40% will be worth it!
The majority of the book (first 60% of the Kindle version) was so very frustrating because the main female character kept saying one thing and doing another; her actions rarely matched her words, which greatly limited any compassion I might have towards her situation. I kept reading, waiting for the great emotional "whiplash" that so many reviewers mention. And at 61% complete the emotional whiplash was in full force! The last 39% of the book is one of the finest works in a psychological thriller I've ever read! It was late in the evening when I reached the 61% mark and I simply had to stay up well into the early morning hours to see how it ended. Just when I thought I had it all figured out there would be a twist that pointed in another direction. This happened repeatedly, right up to the end. My only wish is that the first half of the book was not so unnecessarily drawn-out. Having said that, there was a lot of useful information in that first half that became increasingly more clear in the second half.

Sexy psychological thriller with a killer twist!
I read the reunion and loved it so I checked this book out and it def did not dissapoint! Lorna is a psychiatrist who is married to a man whose previous wife, Maria, died. She had an affair with a patient named Andrew a year ago whom she can't get over, so she leads her life very scheduled and routine to always keep herself busy from thinking about him. Andrew gets back in touch with her and then the story gets very twisty. I had my suspicions about certain people but definitely did not see the big twist coming. I highly recommend this book, it's a sexy psychological story that results in murder with quite a few twists. Samantha Hayes is becoming one of my new favorite authors!

Yuck
I tried to finish this book but just couldn't make myself. I got 1/2 way through and couldn't make myself turn another page. Neither the plot nor the characters were realistic. It took too long to get anywhere with the storyline. I felt there was too much "blah-blah" with no real meaning. I didn't finish because it just should not take over half a book to draw the reader into the story, which never happened for me. I usually finish a book within a few days, but after a week of attempting to get interested, I just gave up. Reading is supposed to be enjoyable and not a task.

Best book by far
I have re a few books of hers and they have been brilliant. But as soon as I started reading this book I actually found it difficult to stop reading it. So many twists. What a brilliant author.

Disappointing
I persevered with this book right to the end as I wanted to know how it would pan out, however on the whole it was rather disappointing. It was a laborious read with a far fetched plot, especially the ending, and the characters are neither credible nor likeable.

just the colour I like for a psychological suspense novel
Five +++ stars! It's a bit slow going, but still very engrossing. I almost always figure out the big twists/reveals, but not with this one. Wow! Really surprised me. Dark, just the colour I like for a psychological suspense novel. Loved the ending.

Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead.
In spite of the eye opening first few pages, it wasn’t my usual type of read and it took me a while to get into the book, even though its unusual theme (psychotherapy) was quite interesting. About half way through I was sufficiently captivated to spend longer reading it each evening. A surprising ending....."The worst kind of secrets are those we keep from ourselves".
