I try to keep bamboo straws in my purse for the whole family when we're out. I love the cloth bag these ones come in and I like the variety of sizes. Some are wide enough for smoothies and others are delicate enough for cocktails. The brush that 's included is very useful. However, there is a varnish like coating on these straws that none of us really likes the feel of. They seem sturdier than sets I previously purchased in Bali - but we all reach for the unvarnished straws first.

The product overall is of great quality. The bamboo is strong and clean with a smooth finish in the exterior. If you love to drink with straws but you're wanting to be kinder to the environment, these straws are great.The main, problem is with the packaging. As I am trying to move to a no plastic lifestyle, it highly bothered me that the bag of straws was wrapped in plastic packing. I thought it was completely unnecessary because the fabric bag was already packaged in a cardboard box and that seemed enough to protect them.The seller should see if they can get their straws without plastic packaging. It seemed completely unnecessary.As the straws are natural, they might have a slight little taste of bamboo if you drink water, but that may fade the more they are used and washed. It does not bother me, but if you're picky, you might want to get metal ones instead.I chose the bamboo straws over metal ones because I think it needs less energy to make them (less co2 emmisiions), it may support the growth of greenery, it biodegrades quicker, can be upcycled easily and maybe economies in south east Asia, and they're more gentle on the lips, teeth and mouth. Also they are not conductive so if your drink is too cold or too hot, it won't affect your sensitive lips etc...Apart from the little disappointment of the plastic packaging, I am happy with my purchase and I feel better knowing I am doing a little part in trying to damage less our planet, knowing the oceans won't get my plastic straws.

If your into natural items for every day use these fit the bill. I have the idea of plastic straws.These clean out well with a straw brush.

Not as even Sizing as others purchased and bamboo not as smooth but still very good value and great for stocking fillers.

These were bought for a local old lady who has to take all her drinks, and much of her food, through a straw because of her Parkinson's tremors. She likes them very much because they are wider than the normal plastic straws, more durable, and reusable. More durable than paper, and don't affect the taste. She now has a little holder that she can attach to her walker to bring them with her.

bought these to help reduce plastic waste in our house. They are very good. a few different widths in this pack, good for smoothies too!
