Terrific gripper!
Just got this a few days ago, and have only begun using it. So far, so great! This is a superbly well-engineered gripper. Some reviewers note the rough stippling on the handles. Maybe that was true of an earlier generation of these grippers. The stippling on mine is providing just enough gripping friction, and not cutting into my hands in the least. It's very comfortable. The extenders are a terrific feature, that enable training at the same 'weight' with different hand-holds. And the mechanism for changing weights is easy to use and pretty ingenious. For those users who complain that this gripper doesn't close fully, like CoC-style grippers, so long as you know that going in, there are no surprises. I train with CoC grippers, primarily. But I definitely see the value in training with this one as well. It feels different than a CoC, but I it's a great supplementary piece of equipment -- one that I imagine will help me bridge the span between CoC grippers as higher up the ladder. If my assessment on this score changes over time, I'll post updates. But my early judgement is: this is a great piece of equipment (and well worth the price)!

They're great, but are slippery and tend to flex as ...
I have the plastic version of the GD grippers. They're great, but are slippery and tend to flex as you get your grip closed. I saw these and decided to buy them. There's absolutely no flex and they're built like a damn tank. Adjustments are very easy and the included extensions are nice. The knurling feels great. Again, the fit and finish is excellent. That "did I just pay $60 for grippers?" feeling goes away right when you take it out of the box. These don't have the graduated adjustments like the plastic version, they just jump from 112 lbs to 141 lbs for instance, whereas with the plastic version you can make very small adjustments. Not a big deal considering these ones feel a lot better to use. These also don't completely close at the bottom of the grip like the plastic ones. This may or may not be an issue for you depending on your goals. If you're trying to do a certification for CoC or something like that where you need the bottom of the grippers to touch, you might want something else to supplement these or just get something else completely because there is a distance difference between when I close these completely and when I close my CoC 1.

A quality product
This hand gripper has exceeded my expectations. It's solidly built, ergonomic and offers a good range of resistance with 6 steps.I expected to be able to close this on the top 90 kg setting... I was wrong! I can barely even close the 77 kg setting and I can lift a fair amount at the gym. I'm fairly sure this hand gripper would pose a real challenge to 99.9% of people. If I was looking to be over-critical, I'd suggest that the knurled gripper shafts are a little rough. It might also be a little tough, in terms of resistance, for those not too athletic or smaller in stature. My girlfriend couldn't close it on the lowest levels. In summary, its by far the best hand gripper I have come across, probably better suited to guys with a bit of hand strength. Its not cheap, but you get exactly what you pay for... quality. I'll ever need another hand gripper.

This grip trainer is awesome. Quality packaging
This grip trainer is awesome. Quality packaging. You could tell right away that this is a quality product from the way it's packaged. Styrofoam inside the box to seperate all components. Bubble wrapped on outside of box.. The actual product feels super sturdy and changing the weight settings is easy. It has an all metal construction that is really thick so should last a long time but it is pretty heavy. About 1.2 pounds. But it's basically 6 grip trainers in one so you're actually saving space and money.

2015 Model Is Incredible - No Complaints
General Overview:After months of hesitation, I finally decided to purchase the GD Iron Grip 90 Ext. I've been training with with the CoC #1 & 1.5 for a long time. I was even more hesitant to purchase the higher levels of CoC mainly because of the variance in difficulty I experienced. What I mean is my CoC #1 & 1.5 were pretty much the same level of resistance, with the CoC #1 was slightly harder than the #1.5. So after warming up, I was able to hit the 3rd difficulty setting on GD Iron Grip 90 for singles, which is just about what I was expecting since I had a really hard CoC#1.Summary:1. How does the GD Iron Grip 90 Ext compare to a torsion spring gripper such as the Captains of Crush? The compression spring feels uniform throughout the range of motion. Captains of Crush ramps up in the last half inch significantly.2. Does the handles touch? No! But in defense, the CoC's gave me a lot of hand and wrist pain located near the pinky and ring side and I believe that it was due to the last quarter to eighth inch of the torsion spring (then again, I could be wrong)3. How does the knurling feel? The 2015 model feels as soft as silk when compared to Captains of Crush (I can't speak about previous models)4. Is there a lot of variance from gripper to gripper? I highly doubt it. It is made with such precision I have hardly any complaints.5. Thoughts about the extensions it comes with - the extensions are absolutely necessary to vary the leverage you have over the handles, specifically to bridge the gap between the difficulty settings. Without the extensions, progressing up to the next level will be a serious challenge.6. Difficulty markings on the side - The 2015 model comes in both kg/lbs markings.

The Best!!!
I've owned many grips and this is by far the best. The range of movement is the same all the way through the motion. Knurling is a little rough. But some tennis grip tape solved the issue. Well made this will be the only grip you ever need.
