A high quality, high performance CERTIFIED product which exceeds expectations.
This is a very effective product. Although it also functions for high speed video signal, it can also facilitate very fast charging, if you pair it with a certified fast charger. If you want a reliable product, whether it is a cable or a charger, select one that says "USB-IF Certified" or something close to that. It may cost a dollar or two more, but it is worth getting a reliable fast product. Many, many products in these two categories advertise very fast results, but show reviews saying they did nor perform as advertised. Buying a certified (from a 3rd party) gives you more assurance it will live up to its advertised speeds. This products exceeds expectations. On a separate note, the cable is much stiffer than your typical cable, likely due to its ability to pass more power or video through than older generations of cables. If you don't mind the stiffness, you get a very high quality product - the best performing we have found so far.

Excellent USB4 cable — works flawlessly at full speed
Great build quality, solid connections, and USB-IF certified for peace of mind. I tested it with a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB NVMe SSD in a USB4 enclosure, and it delivered full USB4 speeds (see attached benchmark). No signal drops, throttling, or compatibility issues. Just works — and works well. ✅ Fast ✅ Reliable ✅ Certified ✅ Worth it Highly recommended if you're doing anything high-performance over USB4 or Thunderbolt.

Cable does, in fact, matter
There was a time, perhaps 20 years ago, when it truly didn't matter which USB/HDMI cable you bought. Brands like "monster cable" overcharged uneducated people to a disgusting degree, while the rest of us laughed and bought the cheapest possible cables which performed identically. ...well, those simple days are gone now. With the advent of 2K/4K/8K, not every HDMI cable is the same anymore. And with data transfer speeds evolving so quickly, USB-C cables have become one of the most confusing tech items for consumers to buy. So before buying a premium cable like this, ask yourself: -Do you actually need USB4 data transfer speeds (40 Gbps)? Like, are you frequently using an external SSD with USB4 capability? If not, you probably don't need this. -Do you only need this cable for something like a USB-C monitor? Look for an uncertified USB4 cable capable of 20 Gbps, or depending on the monitor you may only need USB-C 3.0. It will be cheaper than this cable. With that being said, if you actually do need the crazy speed of a cable like this, then spare yourself the time and frustration of cheaper brands. After much trial and error with many different cables, docks, hubs, etc; I have decided the Cable Matters brand is what I'll be looking for from now on when I *actually* need a super high-speed cable. They don't lie about their claims. If it isn't a certified cable, they will say that in the description and give you real speeds. This cable does what it claims: it transfers data at 40Gbps. That's what I needed for my case, and it's been working flawlessly for many months now. No negatives here.

Great USB4 cable
High quality USB4 cable with a genuine USB-IF certification that you can check for yourself on the USB-IF website by searching this cable's model number (201304). Both USB and Thunderbolt compatible. I have used mine for data transfers with a portable SSD and for super fast charging my phone. Feels thick and sturdy in hand but it is slightly stiff. I also like the clearly labeled wattage and data transfer rates. Thumbs up from me.

My go to USB brand
Cable Matters has been my go to for usb for years. The construction is robust, the performance is flawless, and it meets all advertised specifications. In everyday use its proven itself flawless. What always stood out for me is Cable Matters' attention to standards and certification, their products are officially USB‑IF certified, and they measure exactly as they should even after months and months of constant use.

Stiff and thick
Note: this is thick and somewhat stiff if that matters to you.

Great for my usecase
Works great, using it for a DAC because the original cord was not long enough. Wanted high quality cables for my setup and this has been a good pick.

This cable is actually legit.
In a sea of scam/false-advertising cables, I can say for the most part that this cable is actually what it claims to be. I tested a WD BLACK P40 NVMe Game Drive with CrystalDiskMark, and it reaches the speeds I'd expect to see. It was plugged into a SS10 (SuperSpeed 10) on my laptop. The other cheaper (and admittedly better looking) cable I purchased and returned before this one claimed to be able to reach USB 3.2 2x2, yet when tested was half of the speed I expected and was advertised. I have not tested the charging capabilites yet but I am definitely not going to use the full 240W, but since the speeds were as advertised I'll trust this can handle charging my iPad and laptop on occasion. Since this is a USB4 cable, it can handle pretty much every USB gen under the sun (as of this review). Physically, although it isn't braided or anything, it is sturdy and I expect it to last for a long time. TLDR: If you need a super fast and high quality cable, spend the extra $5-$10 over the obscure and randomly named brand cable that is false-advertising, and go with this one. It'll cover everything you need.
