Great for abscesses
My horse had a subsolar abscess which the farrier was able to dig out and relieve the pressure by draining it. Of course, that mean my horse had a big hole in her foot prone to bacterial re-entry. I'm not able to see and wrap my horse's foot every day, so I packed the Hoof Clay into the hole and hoped it would at least keep further debris out. It did that (and would hold for several days) and must also have helped draw out more abscess material, as I did not have to continue soaking her to keep pain at bay. My horse seemed MUCH more comfortable after I packed the clay in than she was with it empty. She would seem to sigh with relief once I put it in and set her foot down. Great product. A little bit goes a long way, will last a long time. I'd recommend using a tongue depressor/popsicle stick to scoop it out and apply, as it gets quite stuck to skin and is hard to wash off in a barn setting without sink access.

Horse hoof thrush
My horse had thrush so bad that it was up inside his hoofs and I tried multiple things before I came across this product. It cleared it up in less than 10 days. I'll be ordering another one just to keep on hand. It was very easy to pack inside his hooves. I did buy popsicle sticks like someone suggested but it was just easier putting on some gloves and doing it with my fingers. Also someone commented that it dried out so what I did with that was I took a wet paper towel and stuck it in there after each use and that kept it very nice and moist.

I wanted to like this
OK product, really OK. But the packaging is an odd size. You don't use it all and it dries up no matter how you close the lid and wrap it up.

Works great for thrush!
I had been struggling to treat my horses thrush during the spring with the constant mud. A farrier recommended it to me and it has worked wonders! It's so easy to use and lasts for at least two days in my horses hooves, sometimes longer. I use a glove or popsicle stick to apply it as it does stick to my hands and is tough to get off. It sticks in the hoof and really helps to keep mud out and treat existing thrush. I started ordering in the bigger tubs as I absolutely love using It for thrush!

Smells Great & Stays Put
I have a gelding with a persistent thrush problem - ThrushBuster wasn't doing enough because mud & manure would just get packed into his hooves and keeps them moist. This clay made an IMMEDIATE difference. I packed it into his feet and its stayed put. He was walking better the very next day; I can tell he's more comfortable. The tea tree oil smell helps cover up the disgusting smell of thrush so that I'm not dry heaving while picking his hooves.

Not as good as Artimud
Easier to apply than artimud but not as effective. After a few days I noticed my horses feet smelled like garlic- this was because this particular clay was inhibiting growth of SOME bacteria but unfortunately allowing the garlicky smelling kind to flourish.
