"Mobb Deep's Legacy Lives On..."

Its the reeaal hip hop, hip hop
You know an album is great when certain guest appearances from rappers you wouldnt expect to be dope bust some tight verses. This album is evidence of what Mobb Deep is capable of when their head is on straight. Streets Raised Me feat Big Noyd and Chinky is a good starting track and gives you a taste of what was in store. What's Your Poison feat Cormega is nice. I like the piano beat as well as how Hav, P and Mega flowed on the track. Spread Love, Allustrious, Adrenaline, Murda Muzik and Where Ya Heart at are vintage Mobb Deep tracks. Lil Cease busts the best verse of his rap career on Im Going Out. 8-Ball ripped Where ya From along with Mobb Deep. Raekwon blazes Cant F*** Wit and I like the quirkiness of that beat. The Realest feat Kool G Rap is great as all three bust tight verses over a mellow beat provided by the ever so underrated Alchemist. We already know that Quiet Storm is a classic joint by itself. Nas made his presense felt in It's Mine as he stole the show. The remix of Quiet Storm with Lil Kim is great too. Even though I'm not fond of Lil Kim, her verse on the Quiet Storm remix is still fire till this day. There are two songs that stop this album from being the classic Mobb Deep album it could have been(like The Infamous and Hell On Earth was). Let A Hoe Be A Hoe and Thug Muzik are Saturday Night Live boring. Bottom Line: Murda Muzik is one of 1999's best releases by one of hip hop's mighty duo. The production was hot, the guest appearances were on point and Havoc And Prodigy flowed well from track to track. *Sigh*. It's a shame of what they have become now that they have joined G-Unit. You'll never hear Mobb Deep like this again. Standouts: WHAT'S YOUR POISON, SPREAD LOVE, I'M GOING OUT, ALLUSTRIOUS, WHERE YA FROM, QUIET STORM(original and remix with Lil Kim), WHERE YA HEART AT, THE REALEST, USA(ALRIGHT THEN) and IT'S MINE.
