I LOVE my Kai snips!
These are so sharp and beautifully made! I'm a quilter/bag maker and having a great pair of thread snips is a must! They work so well, and I appreciate that they are light weight, open automatically, and make quick work of snipping threads! They also feel super durable. I highly recommend!

Comfortable for Arthritic and Ageing Hands!
I bought these for one of my employees who has severe arthritis in her hands and was going to have to quit because she couldn't squeese the cheap $2.00 snips that litter our vinly products sewing shop. She said that these are a God send. I am now ordering 2 more pairs, One just for cutting sticky stuff (1/4" double sided sticky tape) and another for our general finishing table, which is cutting nylon upholstery thread cleanly from our products. As we are all getting older, we felt it would be in everyones best interest to have a better fitting snipper on our work table. I have read some of the poor reviews about this product, but many sewers simply do not take the best care of their snips. They set them beside the sewing machine and they get knocked onto the floor. This is a disaster for scissors. Also, clean your blades constantly. Thread lint is a real issue with snips. TIP - Tie a piece of ribbon through the bottom and tie or tape them to you sewing machine, so as it vibrates as you sew, your scissors won't fall off the table. I never liked wearing them around my neck, but some people do that. Just don't ever drop your scissors. Kai is a wonderful company to work with. PS. - Their 12" shears are the absolute best. They are BUTTER to cut with. My hands never feel fatigued, even while cutting through layers of vinyl or leather.

Not the quality I expected
I thought I had already reviewed this, so I was surprised to see it again. I have several pairs of KAI scissors, and have always been pleased with their quality, sharpness, and ease of use. When I saw these snips, I thought "great", and expected the same quality as the scissors, but I was definitely disappointed. They don't snip easily, they chop the thread and the fabric. After using them for just one day, I decided that I would not use them again. I ended up giving them to someone else. She didn't like the either, and gave them to goodwill. I'll just stick with my Kai scissors.

Great quality, feel these are bulky and I prefer the old style snippers
It pains me to write this - I am SUCH a fan of KAI scissors. I have probably five pair, so when I lost my cheap 2.99 snippers from that NJ Sewing supply house we all know/love - I thought "Hey, why don't I get the KAI snippers!" There is nothing wrong w/the quality or sharpness of these snippers. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. They're comfortable and sharp sharp sharp - just as you'd expect from KAI. They're too bulky/big - I prefer (and I have large hands) the small cheap squeezy snippers. Imagine planting seedlings with a big shovel instead of a small, handheld garden shovel/digger. That's how these feel to me. I've only been using the cheap snippers for a year, so it isn't like I had decades under my belt. The difference in size and usability between these and my old ones is VERY noticeable. At the end of the day, if the tool does the job and fits in your hand perfectly - go for it - you will not be disappointed - it really is a nice product.

The KAI snips work perfectly. I don't know what the longevity will be but right now they are sharp and snip to the very tip of the blade. It is exactly what I expect from a good pair of scissors. So far, I love them.

Auch eine Nachbestellung. Ich hatte einen fadenschneider für die Ovi und wollte noch einen für du Nähmaschine. Ich benutze nur noch KAI Scheren

I have used these for a few weeks now and I don’t like them. They seem to be sharp but probably 2 out of 3 times I use them, they do not cut the thread first go. I have problems with my hands so I need the scissors (snips) to cut the thread first go. Also the way these Kai scissors are designed the blades easily separate depending on how they are held, and again they then don’t cut the threads. I intend giving mine away and buying one from Gingher. I wanted to try the Kai brand as I had heard good things, but now I think I will stick to Gingher.

I love my Kai snippers. I have a couple of pairs of similar but I wanted to try these as I have a Kai rotary cutter which is fabulous... These are too. They have a substantial, robust feel to them with a nice chunky grip and they snip the threads beautifully. I like the fact too that they have a blade cover on which holds the blades together and is protective also. Compared to other brands I have, the price of these is fine. I actually enjoy using them with the grip handle. Simple to use and they look good too.
