Hang on Back Aquarium Skimmer

Works great! Takes a couple weeks to break in. Written I bought this and first plugged it in, and had to set the cup above the overflow hole, I couldn't believe that this would ever break in, as the reviews all say, and work correctly.Sir enough though, after a few days the toe of bubbles being produced and color of the skim changed. Just before it hit the second week, it changed again and I lowered the cup further. After the third week, the cup sits all the way at the lowest setting, and skims wonderfully, filling the chip weekly with all the foul, nasty stuff you want out of your reef tank.

Collection cup is held up by an "o ring" which is a little more than a rubber band which does not hold the cup up. The cup slides down and fills with water and overflows onto the floor. I have had this unit for approximately two weeks and cannot get it to work correctly. I have had protein skimmers in the past and have never experienced such difficulty getting one to work. At this point I am probably going to have to buy a different one. If I had kept the box I would be returning this. If you buy this one make sure you hold on to the box in case you experience the same problem. Unfortunately for me I am out $150!

This skimmer is great! Easy to assemble and started skimming gunk from my 200 gallon reef tank immediately. I had a Remo before that was very inadequate. Highly recommend this product. One comment - it is not a small unit, so if your tank is not pretty good size, you may want to consider something smaller. Seems to be handling mine just fine. Very quiet, too. I've attached a pix of my tank so you can get an idea of the size of it.

There is a buzzing noise that is too loud. I run it during the day when I am not home. It does the job, I just can't figure out how to stop the noise. :(

nice skimmer, does take a long time to fine tune. Ive had it for a year now and works just fine.

Great skimmer, well worth the price. It was a bit loud the first week or two, but now just a nice hum. Construction is great.Gets the nasty stuff out nicely... you should expect to clean it out regualry since it stands high and is very visable.Also, no micro bubbles!.

Poor fitting tank holder, blocked up easily and overflowed all over the floor.

Unbelievable work horse never though there was so much junk in the water!
