Unfortunately, although a wonderful idea, The product that arrived is of inferior quality and craftsmanship. There are wrinkled pages, the front page is bent, there are dark stains on the inside cover, and the clasp was installed slightly crooked. This was meant to be a gift. A journal of love, that I intended to leave a note in every day and eventually gift to my beloved on his birthday. I wanted a beautiful leather journal, to create a keepsake that could be treasured for a long time, however, because of the sloppy Quality and bent pages, this simply cannot be used as a gift, especially not one for such a meaningful intention. I would have rather paid more and had something that was executed with care and thoughtfulness.

I was looking for a good journal for a while now to turn into a reading journal. I checked multiple stores but I couldn't find any that I really liked. But then I come across this on Amazon and I fell in love with how it looked. So after ten minutes of debating, I ended up buying it. When the journal came, I was extremely pleased with how it looked. The pages were thick, it stayed open and the details on the cover was incredible. However, the only downside is the "buckle" or "lock" part. It works, but there's a piece that sticks out. So the lock could be easily opened just by resting the book on the table. It's not such a big deal, but it is a bit of a set back. Either than that, the journal is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is a beautiful journal, I love the leather and how it is handbound. It is going to be a gift for my boyfriend. I'm doing a homemade "why I love you book"My only issue with it is the paper inside is extremely thin. I had to take cardstock and put that in between two pages. I could not use my ink set or watercolors for the background. Colored pencil is fine, but do not press to hard as the page starts to peel. Some of the page bundles were thicker pages and I was able to use my spray inks on them without bleeding through.That's honestly the only gripe I have with it. Otherwise it's an awesome, unique, journal.

I was so vety excited to give this as a valentines day gift. Sadly it is not going to make the cut. The front flap tucks in the wrong direction and crumples the pages uoon closing, which is likely why the pages were dog eared and crumpled upon delivery. Although the pages are sewn in well and are nice and thick the latch and leather strap holding the latch are mounted AND cut crooked. The stain on the leather does not match the photo or show the grain of the leather, which is more like stiff unconditioned rawhide, it is much darker. The cover is not in the slightest bit supple but hard and crumbly needing leather dressing or... Something? There is a NUMBER Written in pen on the inside of the cover, in large blue ink.

Due to mass production of items of various sorts, there are few things I find that are well made. I was impressed with the workmanship and material of the journal. This journal is remnicent of a time when attention to detail and quality represented the person of whom was responsible for the production. The leather and latch closure of the journal is a nice touch. The paper is thick and well secured. I purchased one as a gift and another for personal use. I am pleased to give this as a gift and look forward to writing many journal entries of my own.

I was so excited to get this journal and was ready to use it as soon as it arrived. The book had been written on in ink when I got it and opened the package. (see photo) Not what I was expecting - it ruins the journal for me to have had someone write on the leather binding.

Love this little journal! I intend to use it to log specific details about a D&D Campaign and the design reminded me of my current character. I love how very clearly handmade it is… That might not be to some peoples’ taste but I appreciate it. The paper inside is also handmade, I did find a page with a hair stuck in it, which frayed the paper when I pulled it out. (but honestly, if you’ve ever made homemade paper, it’s very easy to get stuff stuck in it during the process). My 4/5 on sturdiness is just to kinda point out this journal is not meant to take a beating. If treated roughly, I can tell the homemade pages, would easily start ripping out. I also see a potential weak-point in the locking mechanism... but I’ll update if anything happens with that. But overall: for the modest price, I got a very cute, little, unique, handmade journal which suites my needs perfectly.

Very poor craftsmanship. Latches are crooked, stitching is crooked, spine and fold are crooked. Because of the way the latch is attached the journal cannot sit on a flat surface without the latch digging into the surface of the table. It's very disappointing.
