Great knee pads for volleyball!
My daughter uses these for club volleyball. They are super comfortable. Not too tall, not too short, not too bulky. Just right. She likes the breathability, the protection they give, and the no-stink quality is a winner! She has been using them several times a week for a few months now. Durability is great. No holes, and padding is holding up well. I just bought her a second pair because she loves them so much. For sizing reference, she normally would wear a large, but these are one size fits all. She is 14, 155lbs, 5'7", athletic build, size medium shorts.

Perfect for wearing under jeans at work
Sure they are one size ment for teenage girls to wear playing volleyball, but gosh darn it, they fight my skinny knees. I'm a middle aged 6'4" man, I have thin legs I'm over it. I wear these for work. Sometimes i have to work on my knees. These things i leave at the top of my calf and slide them up when needed. No one knows I'm wearing them under my work pants. They are low profile. It's great. I wear them on my calf just under my knee because it's more comfortable. I have worn them all day on my knees, but the do get itchy behind my knee so when not in use i slide them to my calf. When needed ijust slide them up to my knee. It's easy. If they fit around your knees comfortably then these are great for knee protection. Would i use these if i did flooring for a living? Probably not. I have arthritis in my knees and have used many knee pads. Gel ones always explode. Hard shell aren't great for all surfaces. And molded ones aren't comfortable. These are a win for my needs. One reviewer uses them for her cleaning business, and now i feel like my knees are winning just like hers.

A+ for Comfort and a B for Cushioning
I used to play Varsity Volleyball in high school pretty seriously, but I haven't played in 8 years. I was really excited to get back into it and get the right gear, and for me Volleyball = Asics. Anyway, I don't remember which pair I used while I was in high school but these seemed to fit the bill, and they did- to some extent. Here's why I REALLY like them: 1. They're subtle This isn't just an aesthetic concern; it's really uncomfortable having excessive stretchy material around your knees and lower thighs as it grabs on to way too much skin and squeezes. So these don't give you the uncomfortable and somewhat painful bulges around the pads. 2. The back is completely covered With some knee pads you get a hole in the back for ventilation, but that comes at the cost of the discomfort mentioned above; they tend to cause skin to get uncomfortably caught in the hole. On the other hand, the material of this pair is breathable without the unnecessary discomfort. The only reason I don't like them, and would probably look for another pair the next time around is that they're not nearly as shock absorbant as I remember. That said, they sufficiently protect your knees especially if you're not constantly falling on them and they DO absorb most of the impact. If you are a casual volleyball player then these are perfect! However, if you're a serious player then you might want to look out for something that completely cushions your knees on impact. Either way I've found it difficult to find a pair that fits the bill in terms of comfort (material coverage and so on) so it is worth considering these solely on the fact that they're low-profile. So, while I am still searching for the pair of Asics I used to have, I'm really really happy with these.

teen daughter is happy with this
My daughter destroyed her old VB knee pads so this was the next round for her. She likes them and says they hold up well to aggressive play. Stay on the knees while playing! Easy enough to wash/de-stink!

OMG - the white knees pads are SO tight that they hurt
I am not going to beat around the bush here. I am a chubby. I am a woman, and I wear a size 18 pants. The last few years, I have been dealing with a medical condition where the medication made me gain weight from a size 4 to size 18. It has been hard on my joints, and i have now developed bursitis in my left knee. But the good news is that I am slowly but surely losing the weight. In the meantime, my doctor recommended some knee pads for when I do house work to protect my knees from my hardwood floors. Well, these knee pads are very well made and thickly padded. The cushioning really cups your knee and makes being on your knees comfortable, but HOLY MOLEY are these things tight. I can get them on my knee and wear them, but the fabric starts to roll and bunch, and it actually hurts my skin. There is no way a larger man could wear these for example. The black knee pads may run larger, but the white knee pads are definitely for smaller women if not teenagers. I ended up ordering a pair of knee pads with adjustable velcro straps, and they have worked out much better.

great elbow pads for big guys...
Just to warn big guys that these pads are short (~7" front, ~6" back) and narrow. My knees are only ~17" around and too big for these one-size-fit-all pads. I could slide them on but it was a vey tight fit; it would be a question of minutes for them to become uncomfortable. My elbows are 12" around, so I had 2" taken in at the top (People with muscular upper arms should not need it) and they're perfect as elbow pads. I kept them because I really like the three-points-pads for total protection of the elbow (or knee if it fits): inside, center and outside. I wonder why the outfits don't give the measurements of their garments! The usual S, M, L is meaningless nowadays when everything is made overseas.. And while I'm at it, I'd like to say to reviewers that giving us your height and weight when talking about garments is pretty much useless. For the same weight and height, there are 10 different anatomies... Every one is unique! Waist, inseam, chest measures are very useful, so are circumferences of knees, elbows and even wrists. One * off for not being one-size-fit-all as knee pads, one more * off for the cost of the seamstress to get great elbow pads out of them. :-)
