Whirlpool DISHEXTEND Genuine OEM Silverware Basket Extension Kit for Dishwashers – Replaces 870785, AH3488855, DISHEXTENDA, EA3488855, PS3488855

I really like this dishwasher extender kit. I ordered it primarily for the clips, but ended up using everything that came in the package. It has really added to the versatility of my dishwasher. Our dishwasher is a Maytag and the extender package was marked Whirlpool, but it fit our Maytag just fine. Had I ordered the specific clips for our specific dishwasher, it would have cost more than the cost of this kit. One word of caution - the clips do not fit all the tines in the dishwasher and you will need to experiment with where they fit best.

The box and the listing both say this comes with six light item clips. I have tried three times and had two boxes arrive with one light item clip and a third box arrive with zero light item clips. Since the light items clips are all that I want, this is quite annoying. During the return process if you say it is missing items, it just directs you to contact the manufacturer - and provides a very general Whirlpool support number. No surprise that Whirlpool says this isn't their product and the cant help you. So, I have now returned three of these waiting (hoping) eventually I will get one with six light item clips. Maybe the fourth order will do the trick?!? Hope springs eternal.

If you look at my pictures you'll see that these didn't seem to work right. Turns out they do, but some of us have to remove the rack of tines these clips clip to and turn them around. The tines are held in place by clips. It's not hard to turn them. I hope the pictures will explain the problem. In the white and blue clips, you can see the difference between the clips that came with my machine and what is selling here.

I should've read the reviews. I ordered this product strictly for the light item clips. Received it, and it only had ONE light item clip. Amazon recommended I contact Whirlpool to get this resolved. BIG MISTAKE. They kept me on the phone for 20 minutes and kept asking for my dishwasher info despite my repeated attempts to make them understand this was a DishTrick aftermarket product (the product box says "Distributed by Whirlpool", so they are related somehow). When they were unable to help me, I submitted a return request to Amazon for an exchange. Got the second box... ONE LIGHT ITEM CLIP AGAIN! Now I have two boxes to return. Do not waste your time on this brand. I'd give zero stars if I could, for poor quality control in the packaging dept.So... the lesson is, if you replace your dishwasher, make sure you remove the light item clips from your old dishwasher before the installer hauls it away. What a headache for such little payoff (and in this case, no payoff).

This product was exactly what I wanted but... I can't believe that manufacturers are still making stuff using ingredients that are known to cause cancer. There's a big label on the side of the package thanks to California laws that require full disclosure of harmful chemicals used in products. Seriously, how hard is it for an ethical manufacturer to change their ingredients to produce products that aren't harmful to us!!!! Shame on you dishtrick and whirlpool. On top of it, now I'm going to have a hard time returning it because it was short 5 clips!!!!!

The clip works well on Kitchenaid dishwasher. Problem is that I only got 1 clip instead of 6. Will see how much trouble it is to get other 5 or have to return item. Not happy. Update: contacted manufacturer as instructed and got nowhere—said I had to contact Amazon. Returned and ordered a replacement—still only one clip even though box show and states there should be 6 clips. I am really upset with all the hassle, because I really need those clips. Total misrepresentation of product. False advertising.

We have had this set for several months now and it works great. Before we got this my husband was going nuts every time we emptied the dishwasher as the smaller tupperware would more often than not flip over and be a waterlogged mess. The little clips are a bit confusing to use at first, but once you attach them properly they are fabulous at keeping lighter items from flipping over and filling up with water. Also, small plastic lids clip into these easily and don't get tossed about during cleaning. We actually just got a new kitchenaid dishwasher and moved these over from our old one (ASKO, a european brand). The clips fit well in both washers.

When I moved into my new place, the dishwasher had NO clips. After researching OEM clips, I found them being sold for over $7.00/clip. Really? I’m using the 6-clips in this package, the side clip and the side utensil clip. Have had no need so far for the extra utensil basket but know I can use it for small items like caps and tops, etc. Totally worth the price for the clips. Don’t throw the box away before you install the items. Pictures and explanation are on one panel of the box.
