Works as expected
If I could I would give this 4 1/2 stars instead of 4. The reason for not giving 5 stars is.The item worked as expected and was very easy to use. I have a major problem with excessive wetness with my feet so that causes very bad odor and so after reading many reviews on Amazon this was the best product.Overall it has worked as promised but with my older shoes it did not work entirely. I used the SteriShoe on my older shoes 3 times on the first day I received it and it made a difference. I can smell the difference but when I used the shoes the next day after a few hours I can smell the bad odors from my shoe, not as bad as before though.I follow the instructions of every night I use the SteriShoe but I still get the smell from my shoe and it has only been a few weeks so I am going to keep on trying it with my older shoes. It might just be that the shoe is to old and saturated but when I tried this on the newer ones I had no problem.Overall this has done what it has promised and recommend this to anyone who has very sweaty feet it helps with the odor and keeps the shoe dry after daily use and order.

Don't waste your money
I recently had an issue with athlete's foot, and my foot dr. recommended this product to use in my shoes each night, and they didn't do anything. Installing them in the shoes was easy enough, but you also have to put your shoes inside these bags to completely block outside light contamination from getting in, and that was a bit of a pain with boots. I found the bags to be too small for my size 13's. As far as the SteriShoe in general, I really have no idea if they "sanitized" my shoes or not, but I can tell you that they did nothing to help get rid of my athlete's foot or make my shoes smell any different, like other reviewers have stated. In the end, all it took was some athlete's foot gel from the dr. and my athlete's foot is long gone. I ended up returning the SteriShoe because I felt like it was a completely waste of time and money. Also, keep in mind that uv light bulbs derease uv output over time, so just because these bulbs light up, it doesn't necessarily mean that any uv rays are coming out of them, and unless you have a uv meter, you will never know. I now use another product from my dr. called "CleanSweep" which is a spray sanitizer, and even though it may not be 100% perfect, at least I know something is actually happening. I also haven't had a flare up of athlete's foot since I started using CleanSweep either. If you like looking at pretty blue lights in your shoes, by all means, by this, but if you expect these things to do wonders in your shoes, think again. I really wanted to give it one star, but I gave it a second star because they do look cool, lol.

Great
My shoes were terrible! To the point of being able to smell them while wearing them. I used this for 30 mins. I've worn those leather dress shoes about 5 times in the last 2 weeks and not once have they smelled. I haven't had to use the light since the first application. My feet also seem to be a lot drier and rarely sweat now that I used this product. It's $110 and you'll never have to worry about smelly shoes again. I wish, really wish I would have found out this product existed a decade ago. I feel bad I even waited the 3 weeks to buy it, contemplating if it was worth it. It's worth every penny. The auto shutoff is great, you don't have to babysit it. The cheaper one on here does not have the auto shutoff. Some of the tricks I used to do to my shoes were to leave them outside in the sun during the hot summer. This worked really well granted I didn't forget about them once night or rain came.Another trick was to wrap the shoes in a plastic bag and stick them in the freezer overnight. Both tricks will kill the bacteria but the smell would always come back after 3-4 days at work. This light has already given me 5 days of wear without a trace of smell. Easy, quick, 30 mins and you're good to go.

So far so good
I bought this product after seeing them in my podiatrist's office and talking to him about it. He thought it would be a good idea for my "clammy" feet which have caused lingering issues. After using it for about a week, I would say that it is working very well. I found it very easy to use and it seems to be effective (hard to know exactly of course). But at least with one older pair of running shoes that were really unwearable due to smell, between two cycles of the sterishoe & one cycle in the washer, they smell literally like new, so that was great - I was really surprised with how good the outcome was. My only concern is about longetivity of the product, but like the title says, so far so good - I will post an update if I encounter any problems. Also I'm using it mainly on athletic shoes & on work shoes (loafers) - it does seem like it would be hard to use on flip flops or women's backless shoes, but for me its been easy and not a problem. I also am looking forward to using it to clean up my ski boots, which otherwise are almost impossible to clean. So overall I'm very impressed with this product and look forward to keeping my shoes much cleaner. I'm glad someone thought this up.

I really like this idea
I really like this idea. I've been suffering from toenail fungus, since I was in chemo. I definitely want to get that stuff out of my shoes. This has the nice feature that you can tell when it's working by the little lights on top. BTW I didn't find any instructions. The indicator light which indicates whether the thing is working is also the power switch, in case you didn't figure that out.The thing I don't like is that it won't work unless it's in a shoe under pressure. I tried to use it on some slipper socks and it wouldn't run. Also I tried to use it in a smaller pair of shoes, with the heal portions not hanging of the top back of the shoe and it wouldn't run until I jammed it in the shoe.Again, if you didn't figure this out, the blinking light indicates that you turned it on, but it's not actually working. The solid indicator light means that it's actually turned on.
