Pretty cool...or maybe I should say warm...for the price....
We just moved into a 100 year old house that, for whatever reason, the previous owners decided to install air conditioners in the walls rather than get central air. So, in just about every room of the house, there is a huge air conditioner permanently affixed to the wall. Particularly noticeable in the front room of the house, these units allow cold air to enter from the outside of the house. They are also an odd size. I bought one of these covers to test in the front room. There are two layers that need installed, and the first layer is probably the more important one to install correctly. It needs to be taped down to the unit and the seems between it and the wall. Once done, you cover it with the quilted cover, and it does a pretty darn good job of eliminating air flow from the unit. I was very impressed. My only concern is that the first layer is a thin foam sheet, and taping it down may assure that the sheet is not useable for year two. That is the only reason I gave this 4 stars, because I may have to buy a new one each year to get a new foam sheet.

Great product, great value, tape could be better
Used this cover in a small size for a through-the-wall AC unit during two winters. Got a new AC unit this year and needed a bigger size. Liked the last one enough to look for the same brand—the included foam and tape make a big difference in cutting down on cold drafts. I don’t care how it looks because the unit is hidden behind a curtain unless it’s in use. My only complaint is that the tape is very thin and a bit hard to work with. It tore so easily while trying to get the foam attached and the cord wrapped up. The tape is pretty strong once you get it down, but it was hard to keep one continuous piece of tape going without it suddenly tearing into a useless sliver of tape, forcing me to hold the foam in place myself while I tried to get a workable piece of tape going again, all while standing on a step ladder and still not quite being able to see what I was doing. A minor frustration really, but enough for me to knock off a star and mention it in a review.

Good Product, needs customization
This product has two layers, the inner plastic and the outer cloth. The air conditioner cannot be flat in the wall or it will not work. I have two wall ACs and for one, it is sticking out 3 inches, and the supplied liner adheres nicely to it.The plastic tape is useless. Duct tape works well. The instructions are pretty good, but the size of the liner has to be measured for each unit, so there is just enough plastic to leave one inch of unit exposed to attache the tape to.My other AC is flat against the wall. This was trickier. I measured the plastic to fit the moulding aroud the AC and drilled in four 3 inch screws , so the were out two inches, one in each corner of the AC. This allowed something for the cloth cover to fit over. Overall, good product, no breeze. Do not use the white tape, it is plastic and adheres poorly. Just buy Duct tape. Still a good improvement over the plastic bags I have used for years.

Looks 10, Dance 3
I live on the top floor as opposed to the second floor like Luca. (Generational joke but not really. Don't be a two faced millennial and say you've never heard it because obviously with your face dug on your mother's phone it doesn't take too long to find it on youtube or songmeanings.net). Anyway, I live on the top floor of a pre-war on the weather beaten side of the building. So kill me if I don't feel like lugging my Friedrich twice a year to storage. Do the math, I get drafts like crazy and my windows are "sponsor specials" aka the cheapest windows around when the building converted to a cooperative. I work from home. I truly work so I am at my work space almost religiously. Its a spiritual thing I guess. I garner inspiration from my view (I can look past my trusty Friedrich, perhaps one day I'll mount it on the top of the window) so my home office is situated right by said air conditioner. In the winter it gets cold says Captain Obvious and although I threw out the foam supplemental insulation material because I was amped when this thing arrived, it still provides adequate protection from those wonderful northeast drafts even in the face of rogue storms. I have a shallow installation. Fits good enough so it ought to be versatile enough for all types of depth. Looks civil.

-Fits my AC that measures 19"H x 28" -Cover has a strong elastic band that binds to the AC unit -Looks good -Keeps the cold out
I got the Large - 18 -20"H x 26 -28"W x 2"DWhat you get in the box:-Foam sheet-Beige cover-White tapeInstructions to install:-Place foam sheet over the AC-Tape foam sheet down with white tape-Place cover over AC unit-Done =)Pros:-Fits my AC that measures 19"H x 28"-Cover has a strong elastic band that binds to the AC unit-Looks good-Keeps the cold out-Keeps dust out of my AC while it sits there idle for the winterCons:-Another person left the review that the tape left residues that was difficult to remove when she removed the cover after the winter season. I am going to remove the tape as soon as I get home and use another tape.-I was also worried that when I remove the tape, it would damage the foam sheet and it would not be reusable anymore.-The foam that comes with the cover does not have the same dimension as the cover. My only concern was that the foam was sticking out at certain areas (top and bottom). It's not too noticeable.-It is a little pricey. I have not tried anything in the past, but this did its job. Can't complain.

Not Great if You Have a Thick Cord
I have mixed feelings about this cover. It does work well-- not perfect, but it helps to stop the draft. But on my unit, it looks terrible. (See photo.) That's because the plug cord on my AC is extremely thick and doesn't wrap around the unit tightly... there's no way to accomplish that without literally breaking the cord. So because it won't wrap neatly, the cover can't look neat either. It's big and sloppy and old-fasioned looking, with uneven lines no matter how I tape it and fiddle with it.If this were in a back room somewhere, I wouldn't mind, but this is right in the entrance of my house, where I have to see it quite a lot. I went through the expense and effort of putting it up, so I'm leaving it there for a few weeks, but will search for a less obtrusive cover for next year. Possibly just clear plastic wrap.
