This book will save your life in I.B chemistry, it's really laid out well and is really clear and easy to understand. Working through all of the exercises really helps you gain confidence in doing exam questions and it has past paper questions included. By this book if you want a 7!

Great for IB DP chemistry which is good as the teacher is not!! Covers the full content of the course. I am doing standard level but other kids in my class have bought it for higher level

If you are studying IB Chemistry at higher level then I completely recommend this. I have used several different textbooks and this is by far the best, in fact their whole series is very very good. It does go into too much detail sometimes but I find this useful, and if you don't it is very easy to extract the vital bits that you need to know for your syllabus.

Just as in all IB Books, great explanations, tons of pictures and life examples. This is why the title should state "Chemistry for Dummies" and nothing else, because you will find nothing in it except for the most basic material. Also, the whole content could be easily presented in half of the volume, but then who would pay Ł50 for a chemistry book... This is a great position if you have got too much money and don't want to stress yourself too much intelectually. In other words, if you want to be an IB student.

My students rate this book quite highly. It has the assessment statements alongside the topics (which are colourfully illustrated), it has pictorial paper II style answers as well as the usual text answers and their are options chapters. Not many IB text books have all these in one book, although some publishers may already be planning to follow suit when the next curriculum revision takes place in a few years.

Having after an International Baccalaureate Chemistry textbook for some time, I though I would give it a try after hearing many good things about it from my friends. When I received it, the first thing which I noticed was the size; I knew immediately that this was not the type of book I would take to school.However, when I first started to use this book, it clarified a lot of information for me (I had decided to take matters in to my own hands as my teachers were horrendous). The information is laid out fairly clearly and concepts are described well. One thing I must point out though is that if you are a person who is extremely interested in chemistry and thinking about pursuing it in the future, you would do good to buy a slightly more advanced book, I would recommend Chemistry 3 - a book that will give you the best possible foundations in chemistry:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chemistry%C2%B3-Introducing-inorganic-physical-chemistry/dp/0199277893/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1300298174&sr=8-1However for the rest of us who just want to pass the exams, this book is good enough. This book is a life saver. Buy this instead of the guide you may be asked to. Has great explanations , examples , science explained and exercises to help you a lot.
