Inocraft Soil Moisture Meter Styles May Vary

I was having a serious problem with both over watering and under watering my square foot garden. I bought this cute moisture meter to help me determine when I should water. The meter I received was the red ladybug. It turns out that it, like real ladybugs, are a great friend to have in the garden.It works fantastic. I make sure to bring a paper towel with me to wipe the meter off after I use it in each area of the garden bed. I found that I had a tendency to over water my beds and under water the herbs that I have planted in planters. Not only are my plants thriving these days but I am also doing less work (as I use a garden sprayer and hand water due to drought restrictions.) In the end, it also saves on needless water consumption, too.

After using this product, I have to say that I love it! It is a wonderful way to know when to water your plants. I have to admit that I probably have killed some of my plants for over-watering them! When you put the meter in the pot then you realized that even though the dirt looks dry on the surface, it is still wet from inside! So that's a nice way of controlling watering as needed :)

This has worked great and I am sure my plants love it. I use this to make sure that I am not overwatering my succulents and cacti. It is really easy to read and the instructions with it are straight forward. Highly recommend.

I ordered this thing because it was cute and had a reasonable cost, and because I needed something to help me determine when to water my plants. I use it in my garden and the only drawback is the position of the meter. You have to either insert the rod at a slant or get down on your hands & knees to see the reading. Otherwise, this has worked perfectly! I got one exactly like this for one daughter, and another one that looks like a frog for my other daughter. They love 'em and thought this was a great way to keep from killing their plants from too much or too little water. So I would definitely recommend this little gadget to anyone who has trouble figuring out when their plants need to be watered.

If you find yourself having trouble to know when to water your indoor plants, you need to have this product. After I realized that I could over-water my indoor plants to death, I looked for a product for measuring soil moisture level and found this product. It works very well. From using it, I totally understand why I could overwater plants: oftentimes, even the soil surface looks dry, the middle of the pot could still be wet. Watering your plants then could make your plants drop leaves like crazy and soon become bold.

IT works as advertised, and I think it is fairly accurate but the biggest problem is that the tips break off. You have to be very careful when you insert it in the soil that you don't press too hard or BAM! the tip breaks off. I had to get the first one replaced by Amazon. It is very useful because human eyes and fingers don't come close to measuring moisture in soil. Most of us overwater and this little baby helps keep us from doing it.

This works based on a chemical reaction that happens when the nib of the sensor is placed against moist/un-moist soil - so of course its not going to work if you put in a glass of water, as others have suggested. Also, because its a chemical reaction, you have to read the gauge quickly, since the reading may not last for more than 5-10 seconds, before becoming inaccurate.My only word of warning is that make sure you understand that "styles may vary" - I thought I was getting a red ladybug, but ended up with a green frog. Thats fine, he's certainly cute, but if you are specifically ordering because its a red lady bug, know that you might not get it. I think there's also an Owl available - its a shame you can't specifically pick what critter you want. I'm happy with my frog though... :)

Don't have to guess if enough water or needs watering. Easy to use and read. Seems pretty accurate so far. Can use in multiple plants so has made growing house plants much easier.
