Not as cheap as half a house brick, but less messy
Jeez, does my better half snore. Seriously, I was in the Navy, and sharing a mess deck with 30 other guys has nothing on her. Mack truck going up hill in the wrong gear sums her up. I saw these, and after reading some of the other reviews though I'd give them a go. One reviewer claimed it stopped her urge to massage her husbands temples with half a house brick at night, and I can concur, the house bricks are all stowed outside again.I've tried various other plugs, but being a side sleeper found them all too uncomfortable. The soft composition fills the outer ear (not the inner canal), reducing the most annoying noises, whilst being fairly innocuous.I will certainly be buying more!

Muffled noise a little but not enough to block snoring
I bought these as a trial of something new as a survival strategy against my husbands snoring (who's survival is open to debate) I have tried various earplugs and found wax ones the most effective, although sometimes even those can't drown out the noise. I decided to try this product because I had some concerns as to whether the wax earplugs are adding to my wax build up in my ears. These are not ear plugs that insert in the ear canal but rather a sticky blob that sticks over the ear camel but mostly sticks around the area. Unfortunately I don't find them that effective in comparison to wax earplugs which is a shame because they are probably more comfortable than earplugs.Pros. They are reasonably comfortableThey muffle noise slightly so would be fine with a quieter snorer perhaps.Cons. They are not effective at big noise reductionThe sticky composition means my hair gets stuck to it in the night and it's like removing chewing gum from hair.On balance I won't buy again but they may be ok for people who just want to muffle their environment but not for those sharing a bed with noisy snorer husbands.

Been using earplugs for decades, and would highly recommend these
I am a very experienced earplug user....have had to wear earplugs for decades as I am a light sleeper, and any noise wakes me up. Many years ago I used to use the regular foam earplugs that you can buy in chemists, but when I started buying from Amazon years ago, I tried various different types of earplugs. When I started using the wax Bio Ears, I found that they reduced the noise levels even more, so I've been using those for several years now. There are a few niggly problems with those though...they are extremely expensive, and regularly would stick to my hair if I laid on my side. Trying to get the wax off my hair resulted in having to roll it down the hair shaft, resulting in many tiny, wee balls of wax. Occasionally, I would find a knot in my hair like that of old chewing gum, it was impossible to then get rid of the wax, and would result in me having to cut the knot out.Last year, I decided to go back and try foam earplugs again. The reviews were mainly good, but I just couldn't get on with them. They would frequently fall out in the middle of the night, and took 5-6 minutes of physically holding them in my ears, whilst they expanded. If I didn't hold them there, then the expansion would just push them out, and I'd have to start all over again. I also found them incredibly uncomfortable, and actually painful, which was worrying. I went back to Bio Ears. This time around, I decided to give these ones a try. They were almost half the cost of Bio Ears, (although they don't have the antimicrobial benefits). I was apprehensive, but I'm happy to say that I am a convert! They are really good! I am tempted to say that they might just block out more outside noise than the Bio Ears ones, but I guess that is subjective. They are very slightly bigger, so I think that might help. What I really love too, is that although they stick to my hair sometimes, it is much easier to get my hair off them. There are no sticky ballls of wax to contend with. My hair just pulls right out with seemingly no residue left on the hair, and so far I've had no chewing gum-like knots. They have about the same "life" as the Bio Ears, before they lose their stickiness.NOTE: I only use earplugs for outside noise, and for the noise of my radiators coming on in the morning....not for snoring.IMPORTANT: it is vitally important, with these wax type earplugs that you don't insert them into the ear....they just "cover over" the ear to make a seal.UPDATE: after using up my first pack of 6 pairs of these, I am still very happy with them, and have just been researching the cheapest way to buy these as, with being in bed with a migraine for 2-4 days a week, I do use up a lot of earplugs! Have just ordered 36 pairs, at a cost of 66p a pair. This is very good for silicon earplugs, as they are all very expensive.SAFETY WARNING FOR OTHER EARPLUGS RATED 27db:I was having a look around the site a few days ago, and came across some blue earplugs, that apparently are washable, so one pack is supposed to last an entire year. I must say, I am very sceptical of that. They also block out 27dbs, which is much higher than other earplugs, including Macks. I would definitely warn against buying these, as I had a small fire in my living room last year (my tv caught fire in the early hours of the morning!). I was upstairs, asleep, with my Macks earplugs in, and gradually came to, hearing a distant noise. I had no idea what it was. I thought I'd set my mobile or alarm clock to go off at the wrong time, so I was fiddling about with them (whilst still wearing my earplugs), only to realise it wasn't them. It was still a distant noise, through the earplugs, buy was annoying me, so I took the earplugs out, and it then that I realised it was a really loud alarm going off in my house! I've never had a fire before, so didn't initially realise that it was my smoke alarms going off (one of which is outside my bedroom door, on the landing!). I was still confused at why my two smoke alarms were going off (smoke alarms are generally 85dbs), but then I noticed the smoke! I was really shocked, when I opened my partially open living room door, to find 1.5' flames coming out of my tv, and the room full of smoke!! Anyway, what I am trying to get at here, is that, if I had have had 27bd earplugs in, I might not be here today, as it is likely I wouldn't have heard the alarms at all!! A scary thought!I am still using my Mack's 23db earplugs, and am still very happy with them.

Great So Far
I travel extensively for work and need ear plugs to sleep in hotels. For years I used the well known blue beeswax World's Finest Ear Plug's without any issues. Then out of the blue I developed a scaly ear reaction to them. This would take a couple of weeks to clear, but would return with a single nights use. After reading the reviews I switched Mack's silicone ear plugs, and so far they have been excellent. My ears have healed while using these, and the sound blocking is at least as good as the previous ones. They have the added advantage that they don't leave blue residue on your ears or pillow.

Good enough but expensive
Works surprisingly well. You need to create an airtight seal at the ear and I've found that it blocks the most noise given the comfort (I've tried other inner ear plugs: those are so uncomfortable, lie much further out, and doesn't block much sound). The airtight seal also means that much additional pressure might cause pain as it'll feel like your inner ear being sucked out. They're also a bit squelchy. They don't really seem re-usable so they're a bit expensive. The noise is muffled but it doesn't completely block out snoring. Personally, I noticed that it was just the inconsistency in snoring that I couldn't sleep through. If I turn on a fan or create some other consistent white noise, I'm able to sleep with the snoring in the background.

Brilliant
I love these, I haven't slept so well in years. I've had to turn my alarm up a bit, but that's not a big problem. Being as I use them for sleeping, l find that half of one in each ear is plenty, maybe if I was using them to stop water getting in my ears I'd use more, but half is great, they are soft and comfortable, and I've been wearing just the one pair now for 5 nights, I make sure my ears are clean and dry before putting them in, they haven't crumbled or broken, so not quite sure why that's happening to some people, I remould them each time I use them into a small fat sausage shape, and press them into my ears a little way, and when I take them out in the morning they come out very easily :) I will be recomending these to my fiends.
