Simple, solid design. These cases provide a snug layer of protection around 2.5-inch drives--snug enough that you can't leave any mounting screws on the sides, which is generally a good thing.One detail that I hadn't seen mentioned anywhere: The cases are not only stackable (like their 3.5-inch brethren, which I also own and like) but include tiny clips that provide the option to solidly fasten together multiple cases.

It can hold two 2.5 hdd, but its a very tight fit. Just scared that because of the fit, it will slowly scratch the motherboard underneath the hard disk. I think the 3.5 is better designed with enough space to easily full out the hard disk.

What to do with all those older laptop drives?Just get a 'docking station' to make mirrors and data backups of your current laptop drive.What to do with all those loose drives? I used these to protect the two 2.5" drives I had while traveling in Europe for backups to my photos. i just jammed them in my back pack without worrying they'd get squashed...because they just don't!I use MUKii protectors for my 3.5" drives as well along with the Icy Dock.
