It has enough power to work on those stiff muscles but is also versatile, it comes with different kind of heads so I can work on my neck just for a light massage in low vibration. The Massager came charged so I was able to test the power before wrapping it up to give as a gift. It comes in a plain cardboard box and a plastic insert, no storage other than that so the presentation is lacking as a gift. I bought a different brand for myself which came with a zipper storage case which is a nice addition this doesn't have. The weight is rather light so if your arms are sore you will not have to hold a heavy item, but on the other hand, if you feel quality has some weight to it, this is on the light plastic side. I hope this is a product that is used often and helpful to the gift receiver.
