I bought this to use with my 12 month old son. I wanted a solar night light to save money on the electric bill and since have a light on. Not sure if it has worked in that regard but the unit works exactly as indicated. I've had it a few months. I have one inconvenience with the grill-work on the bedroom window, the base is too big to fit thru, so I suction it the living room window and move it to the bedroom at night. The suction and flap release are great. The flexlight sits on top of the dresser like a table lamp and I shine it on the ceiling to create a soft light for the room. My toddler loves it. He points, smiles and calls it his moon. It's now a bedtime ritual. In the evening, he goes to the living room window, points at his light to take it down, then I give it to him and he carries it to the bedroom, he gives it back to me and I set it up for him. I chose the flexlight as I wanted a little more light from the 7 mini LEDs than the other versions. It's not bright but it isn't dull either.Very versatile light - I also use it as a flashlight when I want to look for stuff without turning on the main light. My toddler has tossed it around and it has not a scratch on it. Seems pretty durable. Have not used batteries with it as I put it to charge every morning. The charge lasts for several hours reflective of the weather conditions. When charging on a bright sunny day, the charge lasts all night until dawn breaks and I have to manually turn off the light. When charging during a cloudy and overcast day, the charge goes after about 5-8 hours (i.e. fter midnight/early morning). The manual on/off is great as I leave it on 'off' during charging so that the charge does not start before we get home in the evening. Excellent product. I plan to purchase more. I hope to use the light for a long time and highlight the educational value as he gets older.
