Vikram Seth is a genius. I wish he wrote more books in verse.The Golden Gate is one of my favorite books and I have read it many times.The Hanuman Chalisa, has been beautifully translated in Seth's inimitable wordsI loved it. I just wish it was longer. Much longer.

No one else but Vikram Seth could translate the Hanuman Chalisa with so much precision. He has a flair for poetry that is phenomenal. By no means easy the poet has so meticulously kept intact the essence of the original.
