Size:x1  |  Colour:Hollow Inserter Check out these handy Inserter Removers for HARD/RGP Lenses By CvOptics. These are fantastic little things that can be a real help when wearing your RGP contact lenses. These are easy to use. Simply rest the lens on the end of the inserter and insert the lens into your eye. When you are ready to remove your lenses, simply place the inserter on the lens and the lens will stick to the device, thus making it so much easier to remove your lenses and at the same time removing finger contact with your lenses. Made by one of the UK's main contact lens accessories suppliers CvOptics. Once you have tried these, you will love them.

Clever and effective piece of kit. Very glad I tried it.
I find this gadget really useful - at least for inserting the lens - and wouldn't be without it now. It makes things so much easier. The reason is, unlike my finger, the lens never remains stuck on it - something that frustrated the hell out of me before I started using it. (I don't enjoy repeatedly poking myself in the eye while the lens remains steadfastly stuck to my index finger!) I'm relatively new to contacts, and so I was struggling big-time to get them in. So this thing was a bit of a godsend, actually. Almost always works first time, with the lens staying attached to the eyeball. Highly recommended. N.B. Having not yet mastered the technique of removing the lens with it, I just stick with fingers for that. You may do better.

OK but could be better
I bought these to help me to get my gas permeables out. I have been wearing hard lenses for over 40 years so my ageing eye lids are getting past the old way of pulling your eye lids to one side and blinking. They do the job but you have to press them quite hard to get the lenses to stick onto them. My wife bought a smaller white one from an online optical supplier and her's is so much better. The slightest touch and the lenses stick. You have to be quite persistent with these blue ones. Unfortunately we can't remember where we got the white ones from.

Cheap and seems unhygienic to use
I did not have a chance to write a review as I was away, but now finally did, hence why I'm a bit late here. When you use the case (transparent container in the picture), it leaves a mark on the plastic head, essentially scraping the sides as you insert the cap on to keep it shut or off when you open it, problem with this is these can get stuck on the inserter/remover (blue thing) and you don't want this in your eye! So the container was pretty much useless to me.Now the inserter itself seems usable, but then feels like I am just adding an extra layer of the same thing, which is the tip of my finger, as I still use my finger partly. I guess you could practice a way to completely avoid using your hands, but you still end up needing so to clean it and your lenses, so I'm not sure. As for removing it, I tried it a few times and I'm not so keen on pushing it flat enough onto my eye in the hopes it sucks the contacts off, but it just doesn't seem to have enough strength to do so. Maybe this is a poor quality version or maybe it's just not effective in practice.

It's great - has enough suction to do the job and ...
Having visited a number of High Street opticians and been unable to locate one of these devices, so went on-line and saw this. I didn't want it for removing contact lenses but rather to insert / withdraw the small plastic covers from my Omni Nest formicarium (ant nest), as the panels are flush with the surround. It's great - has enough suction to do the job and has a little plastic screw-top container to protect it from damage.
