Rustins Wood Preserver Green 500ml

Used on end grain of deck boards

Very good dose everything you’d expect

Soaked in really quick and didn’t cover as far as I expected it to.

Wanted to protect and stain my wooden garden posts but didn't want brown. This is a lovely dark green. The wood grain remains visible but the more coats used the darker the colour. Quite thin and watery but with a bit of care and practice it goes on great and doesn't streak or dry patchy. I love it so much I ordered some more to stain some other garden wood.

Green us an vas colour to cover-up it should be clear

I can't comment on the performance of the preservative yet but everyone needs to be aware of the possibility of leakage. My order also contained some boxers which had fortunately been double wrapped in plastic or they would have been ruined. The lid on the preservative had become loose and leakage had started to occur within the shrink wrapping around the tin and had started to leak out of this wrapping. Come on Rustins, buy a better tin or tape the lid on like other suppliers do!

I bought this end grain but it’s too dark green for my decking and as you try and paint over it the dark green shines out

It does what it says on the tin and it is definitely green but easily over painted.Time will tell how good it seals the end cut
