I have a small work desk and I have been looking to spruce it up a bit - I tried flowers but they need too much maintenance (and there isn't enough sunlight near my desk). I was surfing on Amazon when I found this one - its a mouse mat but much larger (see pics).The packaging was simple (a cardboard box with the mat rolled up inside), delivery was fairly fast. The bottom of the mat itself is rubberised and doesn't slip at all. The top is smooth and the mouse is easier to use on the mat than on my desk (my mouse is wireless, as you can see in the pic). The mat is large - if you see the pic, the laptop that you see is a Dell 17incher and it is dwarfed by the mouse mat.The only downside is that the design looks a bit shabby up close (the tiles that have been photographed are dirty - might be artistic but doesn't work for me).
