Can you add calcium to bearded dragon bits.

Yes, you can.

We recommend that the completed product be dusted with calcium. After the gel has been set up and cubed, add calcium. However, it may have an effect on palatability.
As a result, we recommend doing a test on one cube before applying it to the batch to determine if your beardie accepts it.

Soon, we will release a calcium supplement designed specifically for this purpose.

Does unused portion of made Gel need to be refrigerated?

Yes of course.

It must be refrigerated once it's a ready made gel, and it can be stored for up to 2 weeks only.

Do not freeze.

How much/long does this bag last??

Hello and thanks for contacting us.

It depends on how much you feed, the beardie's size, age, appetite, and a variety of other factors.

In general, 3 oz of powder produces 1 lb of prepared food.
If you only feed Gargeer Dragon Bite formula, 1 bag of 3oz will feed 1 adult beardie for at least a month.

Question 4

My beardie has lost his sight so I have to syringe feed. Is there recommended amt to feed per day/week for an adult? ? As in 1tsp every few days?

Hi,

That is very difficult to answer and honestly the best bet would be to take the animal to the vet.

However, that being said our dragon gel is very dense and nutritious and should be fed in smaller doses than feeder insects or salads. So as a starting point would be 1/2-3/4 tsp and see how it goes, pay particular attention to the tail. If the tail starts to get fat you might want to back off the amount. If the tail looks too thin, increase the frequency of feeding. For example feed every other day verse every 2 days.  Feeding smaller amounts more often is better than 1 larger meal.

Lastly, reptiles take a long time to gain weight so monitor your animals' health closely, using a scale to record the weight per week will give you the most accurate data.  Some adult bearded dragons are very large and some adults are smaller so without seeing the pet this is the best advice we can offer.
