I’ve tried a couple of different replacement caps and this is the only one that I’ve purchased that is identical to the factory Apple cap! It’s been a great replacement for the original one, and it is nowhere near as expensive as the original cap! You can buy the Apple cap original from most Apple stores if you ask about them, but it was $35.00 + taxes. I have also purchased the Apple tips from the online store as well as the Apple store in Austin at the Domain or Barton Creek Mall. They may not carry the cap seperely now as I lost mine just a few weeks after getting my iPad Pro 10.5 inch tablets and pencils for my husband and myself from the oneline store.It’s exactly the same thing as the factory cap and may even be stronger as well! I tried the plastic type and they start out tight, but they start to just fall off. I know exactly where my factory cap is at, I just haven’t been able to get to it, it’s stuck to the bottom of our Kenmore front loading washer and I’ve tried everything to get it out, but it immediately sticks back to the drawer base and it’s incredibly heavy to move. The first generation of this cap wasn’t strong enough and it fell off as well. I was using a different lanyard than the one that comes with this deal and this one is tighter than others I’ve owned.Basically for the price your getting an identical cap as the factory cap and a much tighter fitting rubber lanyard that completely covers the cap and fits much tighter around the pencil! This is the best replacement for the money you can get!

Sadly after months of use, I lost my apple pencil cover. I was distraught and unsure what to do. Thankfully TechMatte thought ahead and knew there would be clumsy people like myself that would lose this and made a very solid replacement. The magnet is strong and does not come off, the fit is perfect and I hardly notice it is a third-party piece. I appreciate the added addition of the silicon to ensure that I will not lose it anymore. It is dangerous to keep the apple pencil without a lid, therefore I recommend purchasing this replacement piece. It is very much worth the money.

Very good product, works well

I just received my Apple pen replacement cap and I am impressed. It comes as two pieces. The cap that looks exactly like the one that originally came with the pen and the holder. The holder is made of rubber and attaches firmly around the cap and to the pen so the cap will not get lost. In my opinion the cap fits tighter to the pen than the original. Very much worth the $8.99 from Amazon vs. from Apple for $20.

I don't know how other Apple Pencil users that have lost their caps felt after the loss. But, I can tell you that when I lost mine, I felt as if I should have been left in the woods as a child. This product fits my Apple Pencil perfectly (1st gen, mind you), AND came with the rubber tether thingy.I know it's just a "figamentation of my imagickination" but I swear writing with the Pencil is SO much better after you get the replacement cap because 5 days without the cap and you're like "Man, I just don't want to use my Pencil." But then, you know you want to use that Pencil. So... conflict. Sadness. Lack of motivation. All is lost. BUT LO! The PEN IS CAPPED. AND I REJOICE!!I have no qualms recommending this to those lost souls wondering where their Apple Pencil cap happened to wander off to.

I bought my Apple Pencil off eBay and the seller was super cool and sent me a separate charger. This had a circular spot that I assumed was for taking the cap off, and one too many times I put it in there way too tightly. I tried to get it out and it cracked, so in a panic I ordered one from Amazon. (I’m an art student in college so I was SUPER afraid of messing my Apple Pencil up even though the top of the first gen is really just there to charge it. Paranoia brain.) ANYWAYS, got this in the mail and it didn’t fit at first. I went to return it, then finals hit, so I missed the return date. I tried again after putting the top in the silicone protector, and it worked insanely well. Put a little frog topper on just for good measure :) Honestly feels a little cheaper than the regular cap but tbh I think that’s just because I know there’s a difference— basically no visual cues. Can’t do better for such a cheap price. Did I mention it’s magnetic just like the regular top? Iconic!The silicone addition makes it super easy to make sure you don’t lose the top (literally so hard to do otherwise) and it means you can put a pencil topper on it without worrying! How fun is that? LmaoooAnyways: great replacement. Totally recommend!
