Disappointing to say the least. The two halves of square pipe were welded with a twist and if used with something like a bike rack or platform, it'll have a major angle to it. In addition the welding is only on the outside and the inside is unwelded. There's been plenty of reports of these failing at the weld point so I'd expect them to find a way to weld on the inside for proper safety? Anyhow, I ended up returning it and just using the bike rack as-is and just tilting the bike rack away from the car.

works as inteded i had a big tire on my trunk on my Hummer EV SUV so i needed to but my bike rack without taking the tire off and it works but it shakes a lot no stability
