Build quality and final product are excellent! Only one problem during assembly, which was my fault for putting a bunch of bits in upside down, and I had to redo quite a bit of the build! I’ll be moe careful next time.

Mould King 10182 V8 Engine Model KitI really like engines. I remember when I was a kid and got a plastic model kit of a working V8 engine. This kit is very reminiscent of that.It's a 2250 piece kit, and will take several evenings to build. The kit comes with a motor, and a battery-box requiring 6 AAA batteries (not included). The kit is large, and the design uses wheel-hubs as pistons. The typical piston parts from smaller cars are used to create the valves, with an overhead cam. A chain drives the valves. There's some nice chrome, and a few tasteful stickers.4 star – giftable4 star – instructions3 star – parts and fitment4 star – stickers4 star – finished buildThe box, instructions, and finished model are all quite nice. This would make a great gift. There's nothing "next level" here, but nothing shoddy either. It's a good package.Instructions are generally clear. The parts are separated into bags which correspond roughly to the steps in the instructions. I found a few places where I had to skip ahead to the next bag when not finished with the previous bag though. So if you think you're missing parts, check the next bag. I REALLY APPRECIATED that the instructions start with bench-testing the motor, battery-box, and switch. Other kits have you build everything and then hope it works.Parts and fitment. While the parts are good, I have to ding some of the non-standard parts. There are several parts which seem like they should have been molded as a single part - but instead, 2 separate parts have a weird coupling to form the intended part. This is very hard to describe and I've included a couple of photos. I feel like this takes away from the inherent simplicity of the brick design and, in some cases, creates parts with subtle differences from a similar, and standard, part.There are only 5 stickers. They are simple and bold. Placement is not difficult, even after the model is complete.The finished build is pretty cool. The motor drive works well. The chain drive to the valves works well also.Some things could have been better. I don't appreciate a battery-box with 6 AAA batteries. I'd rather see USB power instead. I suspect that the real engine has 90-degrees between each of the 4 pairs of pistons. This kit uses 180-degrees. Likewise on the valves. There's no mention of things like timing. You can't really see the pistons in the finished build - but the valves are visible through a clear plastic layer.

This is a massive build! I like it a lot. I’m about halfway through now and I’m very impressed. The directions are a little quirky in places but it’s all worked out and so far no missing pieces. I think I’m hooked. For the price you get so much more than with the Big brand.

The item was boxed very well but disapointed when i opened it up. The box inside the box was totally smashed. Why do this and who knows whats broken inside the item I purchased.

The instructions for this set leave a lot to be desired, and MANY pieces of the set don't fit together very well AT ALL. Progress grinds to a halt every time you need to spend minutes forcing pieces together that SHOULD fit together much more easily. Overall this was a very frustrating experience putting this together.
