Heavy Hydration 2 Liter Water Bladder Reservoir Replacement System

This is a great product, I used it for hiking the South Sister, and for a 17 mile hike and for a 22 mile hike. It was hard to get enough water out when breathing hard ie climbing up the South Sister, but it really did the job keeping me hydrated for the hikes, no leaks from bladder nor from mouth piece, which is really key for me.

Mouth piece does not let water flow freely. It does lock to stop water from flowing-but when you unlock it and try to get water it does not flow. The bag and cap are good. The cap is a little small if you want to add ice to your bag. I am going to try a different hydration system.

This hydration pack is TERRIBLE. First, the mouthpiece came not completely manufactured (the opening slit was still closed and I had to use a knife to open it). Second, it is really hard to suck water out of, you'll end up sucking more air than water and drinking becomes a hassle (which defeats the purpose of a hydration pack). Third, it has no firmness or handle, so it is very difficult to fill. Fourth, the neither the hose or spout on the bag are standard sizes, so they will not be compatible with Camelbacks (or other hydration packs you may have bought with a backpack or from an outdoor store). I actually bought this entire hydration pack because it was cheaper than buying a new hose, which was really all I needed. Unfortunately, this hydration pack, and the hose, is practically useless and was a complete waste of money.

Good news: Fit well in my hydration pack.Bad news: Awful for me. Started leaking after a few uses. I hope I just got a bad one, and it's not a reflection of their entire product line. Try Ultimate Direction if you want something that will last a while.

So far so good. I had a bladder for about 2 years and it finally gave out. I like this one as you can close the mouthpiece to avoid leaking. I trail run a lot and so I am up and down and have experienced no leaking at all. This product so far has met all my expectations.

Got this to replace a problematic unit that came with a pack.Seems to be pretty solid construction. No problems, no leaks, good price and showed up on time as ordered.Use it mostly for hikes with the dog, he seems to like the water just fine too.
