The Diabetes Home Screen (also known as a HbA1c test) is the recommended test for pre-diabetes and diabetes. The test reflects your average blood sugar level over the preceding 12 weeks (the average life span of a red blood cell). Higher HBA1c readings correlate with higher blood sugar levels. A HBA1c level of less than 42mmol/mol is considered normal and a level of 48mmol/mol or more is suggestive of diabetes. If your HBA1vc is 42mmol/mol or higher this suggests that you are pre-diabetic and that your risk of developing diabetes over the next 3 years is considerably increased. We often find that people can lower their HBA1c level through dietary improvement (less starchy carbs and sugars) and weight loss How does this home testing kit work?
